  1. Hi there, I am currently a permanent resident and after being on PR for a year I applied for citizenship earlier this year. Just wondered what happens if you lose your job while your citizenship application is underway and has not yet been finalised? Is there any impact on the citizenship application if you already have PR in place? Cheers, David
  2. Thanks for the advice. I'll plan the holiday without worrying about it! Tanwi, lucky you that your citizenship application seems to be getting processed really quick! I am expecting mine to take at least 12 months or longer.
  3. Hi, I applied for citizenship in March 2019 (I am currently a permanent resident) and wondering if I can travel outside of Australia for a month trip back to the UK at Christmas time (holiday to see family). If so, do I need to notify the immigration department or update my citizenship application in the portal? Cheers, David
  4. Thanks, I thought so but wanted to double check!
  5. Hi, am I right to read the statement below on the citizenship website as not needing to provide any police checks for any time I have spent overseas before my permanent residency was granted in March 2018? I provided police checks for the past 10 years for my permanent residency and assume that I wouldn't need to provide any police checks for any time spent overseas before the 10 years for citizenship? Thanks, David Penal clearance certificates If you have spent a total of 12 months or more outside Australia since we granted you a permanent visa, you need to give us overseas police certificates from every country, including your home country, where you have spent a total of more than 90 days since you turned 18.
