  1. Hi, thats brilliant thanks for confirming. That's confirms what i thought! Thanks again, Rob
  2. Thanks for the tip!
  3. Hi Zac Hope is well. Are you able explain what the skills assessment was like for a finance broker- was it a case of proving work experience or did you have to have test of any kind? Many Thanks Rob
  4. Hi Alexandru Thanks for taking the time to reply. I did open the post regarding finance broker. I belive this matches my occupation best as i am a mortgage and protection broker. My answers to your questions.... 1.What are the studies the you have finalized until this point in your life (from high-school onwards) . The qualification that i obtained previously was a distinction in advanced GNVQ (NVQ level 3) in leisure and tourism so a completely non relevant subject. I believe they view this level of qualification as the same level as a diploma ( i may be wrong!) 2.What are the additioanl certification you have received after finalizing your studies - what is your work experience (from the begining, title, calsification dates of start & end) I gained my CeMAP qualification which allows me to practice as a mortgqge broker. All of my experience in this occupation has been post qualification. - 3 years so far. Prior to this role i was a branch manager for an estate agent for 8 years and i dealt with sales and lettings. However looking at the occupation list, its not on there. Based on what i read regarding the skills assessment, if the qualification is not in a highly relevant field which mine isn't (the advanced GNVQ) , then two years of employment at an appropriate skill level, completed in the last five years which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation is required - which i have. This is reduced to one year if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Certificate IV level in a highly relevant field- im not sure if the CeMAP is viewed at this level but i believe the oz equivalent is ,- although i have the two years highly relevant experience so i dont belive this last part is relevant for me. What i was trying to understand is if my qualification would allow me to gain 10 points which is the non relevant Advanced GNVQ. I dont belive the CeMAP counts for anything. Regards Rob
  5. Hi all. I am looking for clairifcation with regards to points scoring, particularly with the following occupation. Finance Broker (ANZSCO Code 222112) Option 1. This occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation. In addition to this, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years in a field which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation. If employment is not post-qualification, then three additional years of highly relevant employment are required. 2. If the qualification is not in a highly relevant field, two years of employment at an appropriate skill level, completed in the last five years which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation is required. This is reduced to one year if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Certificate IV level in a highly relevant field. If i am trying to use option 2 for my skills assessment as i have a qualification not in a relevant field but have the work experience etc , will i then still gain points (10 points) under ' Other award or qualification recognised by the skills assessing authority'. I hope this all makes sense Thanks in advance Rob
  6. Hi thanks for the reply. The occupation on the skills list would be finance broker. I am a mortgage advisor with CeMAP qualification. I believe thats not relevant when practicing in Oz and i would need to take their version ( i think it can be done with distance learning before i went) or i could do it when i am there. I am interested to know if that would help me with that occupation to show that i am qualified and get me points under the qualifications section. The actual question on the points assessment is: Qualifications -Doctorate from an Australian educational institution or other doctorate of a recognised standard -At least a bachelor degree from an Australian educational institution or other degree of a recognised standard -Diploma or trade qualification completed in Australia -An award or qualification recognised by the assessing authority in the assessment of the skilled occupation So its whether the CeMAP falls into this section immediately above and is an award thats recognised as it would give 10 points which i need. Many Thanks Rob
  7. Hi All. I have always dreamed of living in Oz having visited a number of times. I have a young family and my wife has now said she would consider it. I have a few questions. 1. On the points test, where is asks about qualifications. How do i find a list to see if what I have is recognised and therefore allow me to potentially allocate points for that element. Also does a degree for example have to be in the area in which you work? Thanks in advance Rob

Hi, just a very quick question. Looking at options to move to Oz with my wife and two children. Does she need to qualify or can everyone go on mine if i qualify for a visa? Thanks Rob
