  1. Congrats Jimbo! JetBlast: we could even create a WhatsApp group.
  2. Congrats Dan. I'm curious how come it took 10 months from application of the Visa to grant..did CO ask for more documents? Appreciate if you can out some light on. Thanks They've requested additional support documentation for work experience on two separate occasions, then our police checks expired. So 3 delays. They could have asked for the additional info in one go, but hey... it just the way it goes sometimes.
  3. Hey gang, Is there a way of opening a bank account before actually flying to Australia? We got the grant in December, we even bought the plane tickets for March the 4th but it would be great if I could just open a bank account and make a money transfer for my piece of mind. Thank you.
  4. Plane tickets bought, we're shipping out on March the 4th. Best of luck to all of you and have a bit of patience! It took 10 months for us from applying for visas to grant.
  5. Could we circle back to the original question please? Is it ok to first visit my relatives in Melbourne and stay there for a month before settling in Adelaide? Thank you.
  6. We do not hold a permanent visa, so its B4 for us. Thanks JetBlast.
  7. Hi gang, We've been granted the 489 visas (SA sponsored) and we have all intentions to live and work in Adelaide for at least 2 years, however here's my concern: I have relatives in Melbourne and I've already purchased the flights with Melbourne as destination. We only plan to stay there for a week or two until we find a suitable renting place in Adelaide. Could this be an issue with authorities? Thanks.
  8. Very well, hold on to your hat: Jan 15 2015: first contact with MA. June 2017: TRA successful assessment. Nov 2017: applied for SA sponsorship. Nov 2017 (20ish days later): SA state sponsorship granted. March 2018: 489 application lodged. Dec 22 2018: VISAs granted. Total Duration: 4 years (minus 3 weeks). Renault, given the fact you've applied on Nov 15 it could only take couple of months in your case. I would say you'll get your grant before the spring comes, say before March. You could even start looking for jobs if not already on it. Good luck and be patient. Your new life is around the corner, waiting for you!
  9. UPDATE: We've been granted the visas on Dec 22.
  10. We wish you all a wonderful year ahead and a happy new life in Oz! We've already bought the tickets, we'll land on March 5th.
  11. UPDATE: We've been granted the visas on Dec 22.
  12. Hello everyone! We got VISA Grant today, on Saturday !!!!! We've applied on March 6. Good luck everyone and hope you all have wonderful holidays! See you in Adelaide!
  13. We've provided the requested docs (further proof of work, statements from the bank during that time) and since then, the CO contacted us again requesting updated police checks. Fingers crossed really. Today is my birth day, it would make for an awesome present!
  14. Congrats Jon&Sophie, Jellica & JetBlast! Just hang on and live your life without thinking about the big move too much. We've applied for the visas back in March and we've had the CO contacting us 3 times since then, last time only requesting updated police checks. However, even if we get a positive decision this month, we wont move (to sunny Adelaide) until March or even June. Regardless, we'll make sure the Henley beach can accommodate all of you guys who applied this year!
