  1. Glad to see how proactive they have been in adopting online ceremonies which ultimately reduce waiting times for everyone else further down the process. I am keen to hear what till happen next to the interview/test and how this will be conducted.
  2. I believe you can apply on the 1st of May (since this is the anniversary of your PR). But of course, check the calculator.
  3. With any luck, the drop in applications should result in faster processing for all of us.
  4. For the section (First arrival in Australia, Evidence of) Does this mean a scanned copy of the entry stamp from your passport?
  5. The photobooth was $8 from memory and I am sure it was at least double that last time I had it done in Auspost. It surprised me how hard it was to find a booth anywhere in the CBD.
  6. I finally found a photobooth machine which takes passport photos in Melbourne! Way cheaper than Auspost and you have the option to review and select a good one before printing. It's in the DFO on Spencer Street opposite Chemist Warehouse for anyone who is interested.
  7. Good morning everyone Just a quick question regarding the citizenship application which I will be submitting online in a few short weeks. Are the questions exactly the same online as the paper form 1300t? I have printed this off and completed it in preparation for when the day comes that I can start the online application.
  8. From what I can see there is no specific wording requiring applicants to continuously hold a valid visa for the duration of the four years, only that you require a valid visa while acually living in Australia. Using my original entry as the lawful residency date, it says I am valid to apply based on the 4 years and 1 year PR with less than a year absence and no more than 90 days in the last year. Will be coming up for my 5 year anniversary living Oz soon so looking forward to getting my citizenship application underway
  9. Hello All, I am looking to apply for my citizenship on the one year anniversary of my permanent residency which is fast approaching. However, I am confused by the 4-year requirement and if this need to be continuous (or not). A timeline of my history in Australia is below: Feb 2015 - Arrived in Australia on 573 visa June 2016 - Returned to the UK (573 visa was due to expire in June) August 2016 - 457 visa granted and returned to Australia (78 days spent outside Australia while applying for visa offshore) Feb 2019 - PR granted Feb 2020 - Apply for Citizenship? Using the residency calendar, it is saying I am eligible based on my lawful residence date being Feb 2015 entry to Australia. The time I spent outside Australia was while applying for my 457 visa offshore as I did not have a valid visa. Am I able to use my lawful residence date as my first arrival in Feb 2015? Or the subsequent entrance in August 2016, which would delay me applying for citizenship for 6 months. My overseas absence from Australia is less than 12 months in total in the past 4 years and I have spent less than 90 days outside Australia in the past year. Many thanks, Rob
  10. Thanks @Hex That is great to know. I was also hoping to get my application ready beforehand, but looks like I will have to wait until the 18th Feb before I proceed any further. Many thanks, Rob
  11. Good morning everyone I just had a quick question about my application for citizenship. I meet all of the general residency requirements but was wondering about the 12-month residency requirement. Does this mean I can submit my application on the anniversary that my residency was granted? Or should I wait until the following day to qualify as 12 months? For example: PR granted: 18th Feb 2019 Citizenship applied: 18th Feb 2020 or the following day? Many thanks, Rob
