  1. Hi all! I know this answer is a long time coming I live in North Queensland - the geckos here are a real problem. They are super cute but poo everywhere, short out electrical goods on a regular basis and here in the tropics, run the house all year round. About a week ago, they were all fighting and mating, clicking all night, dropping off the ceiling and pooing everywhere. I got sick of it and went online to find a solution. All suggestions were not really up my alley... tobacco coffee balls (yuck) chopped onions and garlic (yucker) mothballs (I dislike the smell of those more than I want the geckos gone!) Sticky paper (too cruel ) the only thing worth a try was eggshells. Yes, eggshells. The directions were that the next time you broke an egg, rinse the two shell halves and place them on a shelf in the kitchen (or wherever geckos were a problem) and they would frighten them away, as they would think they were a preditor! Hahaha! I laughed to myself, however, the next day (2 days ago) I had two eggs, rinsed the shells and put one eggs worth on a kitchen shelf and one eggs worth in the loungeroom and I now have a completely gecko free home! I kid you not!!! The directions went on to say replace the shells with fresh ones every 3-4 weeks. You could knock me down with a feather! Hope this helps someone.
