  1. In June 2022, I found out that I was eligible for citizenship, no problem going through all of the 32/34 pages on the immi account. Now I found out over the weekend that I am not eligible any longer and can't proceed past step 4. I believe this is because on the 26/6/2018 (4y ago), I traveled overseas until 21/8/2018. Despite the fact that I have been in Australia for 4Y with less than 12 months of total absence (I was in australia since May 2018), the immi account (and the Immi person I talked to on the phone) says that I am not eligible until the 21 Aug 2022. I am thus thinking that the 4Y period from submission date cannot start with a period of absence...even if I was in Australia in May and Jun 2018 ? Should I just suck it up and wait 1.5 months ? Any advice? The person on the phone told me to go for ministerial discretion if I think I'm correct, but I wouldn't jeopardize my application over this... Just feel silly and played that I lost 45d because I waited another weekend to submit.
  2. Hi guys, We have applied onshore for a 189 visa, got BVA then applied for BVB and obtained it. We are now successfully on BVB and overseas for more than 14 days. Reading on the site that You must notify us of a change in address if you have an undecided application for a visa with us and you intend to change your residential address for 14 days or more , my partner has changed her address on the online "update portal". Second guessing this move, we are now worried that this may change our onshore application to offshore, and/or cause confusion (because we are obviously coming back to Australia in a few weeks' time). We will reach out to Home affairs call centre, but wanted to have individual feedback on: 1) whether we were right to update this 2) if we were wrong, what should we do to remedy To note that we are and will be well within the time frame given by the BVB. Thank you in advance for your help! Cheers, Greg
  3. Yup I have, thanks for the advice though! Any idea whether adding my request for visa after lodging of main applicant's would result in me getting a bridging visa if I am onshore at the time?
  4. I should get 482 visa in the near future so we would only consider adding myself to original application if this doesnt go through.
  5. Hello, My partner has received her invitation to apply for the 189 visa. She will lodge the application onshore and get the bridging visa. I'd like to know whether, if she adds me later on to her application, i will be able to get a bridging visa (say if im under a tourist visa) ? Or do you think regardless of my location onshore or offshore, because i am adding my application to hers after it has been lodged, i will have to wait grant to have the 189 ? Thank you in advance for your help !
