  1. Thanks, best of luck and may I share my luck to you and everyone else too! Merry Christmas
  2. Mine took 3 hours. I am actually worried for you because you are departing next week, which is a xmas week and returning first week of Jan, not sure how many officers will go for a holiday during this time.
  3. Hi Mily, I think your family's application is same as mine. The 143 my parents lodged was for 3 persons, my dad, my mom and my younger brother who is studying in Australia on student visa. When we received 2nd VAC request last Friday, our agent advised us that my younger must leave Australia before the PR can be granted to all 3 applicants. So we booked the ticket for him to depart Australia yesterday, right after he passed the passport control at the international airport, we make the payment via BPAY then notify our agent. 3 hours after that, we received an email from our agent, PR were granted to all 3 applicants, and on this email, our agent told us my dad (main applicant) MUST arrive Australia with the other applicants (mom and younger brother) or EARLIER than the other applicants (mom and bro). In other words, the other applicants cannot arrive Australia on the newly granted PR visa on their own prior the main applicant arrival. If they do, they would be seen as a tourist (if arriving on a tourist visa) or an international student (if arriving on a student visa) etc.
  4. HORRAYYYYY!!! My parents and younger brother got their PR today!!!! Excellent Xmas gift, although they came 2 years late but better be late than never!! Merry Xmas to you all and thanks for everyone's support throughout this painful waiting time!
  5. The so called "sponsorship" is basically you agreed to financially take care of the visa applicant(s) so that they do not need to rely on Centrelink subsidies. For that, the Centrelink require you to apply for the Assurance of Support (AOS), to have you approved, you will need to do a 10 years bank guarantee for visa applicant(s), $10000 for one, add $4000 for the second applicant. That's to safeguard the visa applicant(s) "accidentally" make a claim to Centrelink after they became a PR, if they do, Centrelink will take money from the bank guarantee they hold and to repay the money claimed, if the bank guarantee does not cover the claimed amount, Centrelink will contact you and ask you to repay the money claimed. The history of cancer or any other medical conditions is not Cenrelink concern, it is up to the immigration case officer to decide whether to grant the visa applicant a PR based on the medical check result. And for the future medical bills, if PR is granted, your parent in law is covered by Medicare. Any out of pocket, of course, is expected to be paid, not necessarily yourself but yeah, by your family.
  6. It will be more like towards 7 Jan 2020. Don't take the estimated date serious, none of us here got it done on or before the estimated date, not even close.
  7. wooohoooo 2nd VAC requested!! keep the good news coming! Wish we all have a merry xmas !!
  8. First of all, congratulations when did you receive the AOS letter and notify the immigration office? Just wondering how long does it take to receive the 2nd payment request, thanks
  9. AOS acceptance letter received!!! Hope Immigration office give me a nice xmas gift by granting my parents visa!
  10. O....M.....G........... I wish I asked earlier! I also submitted the AOS on the 20th but yet to hear a response. I have uploaded the documents using your method, hopefully I will get the approval letter in a week time Thanks!
  11. I can see that you waited for 5 days only to have your AOS approved, what's your magic? Did you call the hotline everyday?
  12. I submitted the bank guarantee documents and the bank guarantee request letter online. mygov -> Centrelink -> upload documents -> uploaded them under "Financials" category I have not heard back from centrelink. From the information I have gathered from this forum, the wait time appears to be random, some waited for like a week, some waited for like a month, some even got rejected for no reasons when everything was done right.
  13. AOS - joint application question. I hope you guys can help me. I am sponsoring my parents and my brother under visa 143. Can the bank guarantee be set up under one name (one assurer’s name) or does it has to be under both assurers’ name? Reason for asking is because the CBA staff (visited two branches already) and they both told me they could only do the bank guarantee under my name, but not under both me and my partner’s name. Can someone please help me? Thanks.
  14. Thanks, I received the Bank Guarantee Request letter on last Friday, three days after the phone interview concluded.
