  1. Hello all, my an my partner have received an invitation for 489 to SA. I am a bit worried thou, with the 489 visa about to be obsolete in a few months. In two years time, when we apply for our permanent residency, can we still apply whilst on the 489 where the applicants still receive the 4 years ( which would end Nov 2023) or does the replacement visa take over and complicate the process? Many thanks simon
  2. Congrats. I’ve recieved my 489 for SA today as well. Does anyone know what’s happening with permanent residency as the 489 is going to be obsolete soo?
  3. My tutor has said that the NVQ level 2 in joinery is the minimum requirement to become fully qualified as a tradesman. Which I received 4 years ago. So should them four years not be classed as post qualificationexperience. I only done the NVQ 3 to help with my job now.

  5. Hello all, I have passed my joinery vetassess and now ready to place my expression of intent in. Me and my wife would love to get the 190 visa to NSW. However, my agent has said, because I have both NVQ level 2 and level 3 in joinery, that the vetassess was highlighted my level 3. I have only 1 year work experience at this level. It is this that the emigration agents are wary of. So they have suggested a 489 visa to SA. As the regional visa requirements are 1 year work experience. Is this correct? And that all earlier work experience become null? I do not understand why the agents have mention this as the Australian points have work experience already. Does anyone have any experience with this many thanks skn
  6. Hello all, I hope everyone is good and I hope someone can help me. I apologise if this topic is already been covered before. I am about to do my vetasses for a bench joinery for my 190 visa. I have recieved the units and I think I am fairly confident in most of them. However, there is a few which my place of work does not cover (such as doors and windows) and has been a while since I practised them in college. This is where I am panicking. There’s at least two in the compulsory part that I lack. Is there any where I can research vetassess questions? I have looked online and through countless forums. I have been going to the library and rehashing the topics to try and remember the details but this has made my confidence take a nose dive. Thank you all in advance
  7. Hi all, this is a brilliant group, I hope you can help me. I work as a joiner for a medium sized company and passed my level 2 and 3 in joinery. With level 2 being passed in 2015, with certificates to prove as such. I am trying for a regional skilled visa due to my age(38) The problem is, I must have upset my employer somewhere down the line. As he is unwilling to give a reference stating that I am a joiner only a trainee/apprentice joiner for the past 5 years. And is refusing to budge on this. The question is will vetasses be ok with this situation? Also with regional visa looking for minimum of 3 years qualified experience. How is the best way to tackle this? many thanks simon
  8. Hi there all, could please someone help me. I am in the process of applying for immigration to Australia and my agent has hit a stumbling block. My employer has my my contract as a trainee joiner since the start of my employment in March 2015 however I finished my time in June 2015, he is refusing to change the title. So at the moment it seems I have no qualified experience in the eyes of vetassess or tra. Is there any way around this? Many thanks
