Hi, I travelled to Australia with an ETA as I was still waiting for my WHV (I already booked a flight, long story my) I didn’t check properly that it had to be approved only outside Australia and when I called home affairs before flighing they didn’t say it would be a problem going there that I will just have to wait to receive it. I am now waiting for 2 months for my visa, home affaires don’t give me more information just saying that my application is good and that I just have to wait. I now know that I have to go outside the country to receive it. That’s my plan however I don’t know how long it will take. Can you help if you were in that situation as it is very stressful being in Australia without any work rights and help from government. Thanks in advance

I applied on 16th of August for a working holiday visa. I received an email on 6th of September saying that I made a mistake on it. I then sent the correct information straight away but I am still waiting for my visa... I already booked my flight to Melbourne for the 25th of September that is why I am a bit concerned. I called the Global Service Centre but they told me they cannot do anything for me. If I still not receive my visa by the 25th I will go anyway however when I will receive it when I will be there, I heard that I will have to leave the country and then come back to activate it. Do you know if there is another option as it will be a cost to do that even if I choose a cheap Asian destination? Thank you for your help, Marina
