  1. I’m not worried about the costs but I am concerned about the stress on my dog. I was asking if anyone had any experience of it not personal opinions of the rights and wrongs of it, with respect!
  2. Hi there I live in Gippsland and have been in Australia for 17 years. I’m thinking of spending 6 months in each country. I want to take my 10 year old cocker spaniel each time. I was wondering if anyone has done this? thanks in advance !
  3. Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes I’m staying here because of my boys . I can’t bear the thought of leaving them although they’re grown up.
  4. Thanks x we’ve got super tied up in property. Nothing too exciting just a two bedroom flat in Melbourne. I’ve got maybe $50k of super in the UK other than that nothing so financially I’m stuffed. My ex told me not to get lawyers involved in our divorce but I’ve definitely been disadvantaged. I’m so ashamed and embarrassed tbh to be in this situation. I’m 50 with maybe $200k that I could get if I sold my crappy house. I’ve worked full time for the last 30 years as a nurse it all seems for nothing. Definitely not enough to buy a think in the uk. I guess I just need to look forward to the next chapter in my whatever the hell that would be.
  5. I feel just like this now. Moved from Bath to melbourne. I’ve been here 14 years now, kids grown up, divorced after 20 years living on my own in Gippsland. 10 years from retirement. I’m yearning to go back to Wells, Bath or anywhere in that location. I’ve never felt so alone. Biggest mistake ever coming to Australia.
  6. I think you have to be honest with him. It’s a bit late to feel awkward. Good luck.
  7. Hi there I was just wondering if anyone lives around this area? I’ve got a rental for 6 months looking to buy around Woodside beach, buy land then build. I’m applying for a job at Sale hospital but will continue to work in Melbourne once a month, it would be great to meet up for a coffee I’m moving next week. Thanks in advance.
  8. Yes Victoria definitely has the same thing, signed up by us but this part was not given to my solicitor or theirs. We’ve got a copy.
  9. They did a final inspection 4 days before we moved out. So not much good. We were still in the middle of moving out.
  10. Yes it is standard in Australia but for some unknown reason was not given to the purchasing people. I didn’t want to leave a broken oven so thought I was doing them a favour by taking it out. The dishwasher is the same as the washing machine just needs to be unplumbed. If we had known we would have left it there but we were not told a thing by our agent.
  11. The lawyer has said nothing about suing the agent but I definitely will. The oven was not working and this was stated right at the beginning of the sale. The stove wasn’t removed just the oven. The dishwasher I don’t think was a problem as we needed one for our new house, all this was upfront and above board. We never tried to hide anything. But obviously now it’s a problem. Thanks for taking an interest
  12. YES it was Cal from people with experience or knowledge
  13. I know you don’t know anything about it, with respect , and don’t expect answers from everyone, just those who might know something. Very simple really.
  14. I know Cal! Most people will have an opinion. I am simply asking if this has happened to anyone else? That’s all.
  15. Yep. My lawyer says I need to pay. I was just asking if anyone else has had experience with this. That’s all.
  16. Hi ive recently sold my house. I completed the REIV checklist in advance stating what I was taking eg. oven ( as was broken) dishwasher and a few other things. However, it wasn’t until the new owners moved in when quite understandably they were upset as these items were missing. The agent failed to give the REIV checklist to my conveyor and theirs. I’ve had letters from their solicitor to say that I must now pay for these items as they were part of the sale. The realestate agents have been utterly useless and have left me “ high and dry”. I guess I have no option to pay then sue the agent for not doing their job. They’ve had their $35k commission and I feel abandoned by them. Any thought from people who know about this stuff? thanks
  17. Already done that. I’ve lived here for 12 years so I know the score but just wanted to know if there were any private rentals.
  18. Hi there I’ve just sold my house and will be looking to buy in Rosebud within the next 6-12 months. I’m looking for a 6 month rental if anyone knows of anything. I don’t really want a 12 month contract. I have 2 dogs too. Thanks!
  19. Hi there Ive been living in Melbourne for the past 12 years. I’m from Bath in the UK originally. I’ve got 2 boys that have now left home so I’m on my own now with 2 cocker spaniels I’ve been working as an Emergency Nurse in Melbourne but I am looking for a change. I will need to rent a while I guess until I find something. I’m happy to move states if need be. I just wanted peoples opinions (especially nurses) on locations. I did look into working at Sale hospital but as usual nobody gets back to you in Australia. i would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advance.
