  1. @garrychandi looking at your timeline, I think we applied on the same date.
  2. That's awesome news. Congrats
  3. We are planning on settling in QLD and the company that has hired my husband is aware of this. They have offices in QLD and are willing to move him up there once the PR is granted.
  4. We landed on sunday (18 Jan). my husband will be starting work on the 4th of Feb. I pray we get contact soon.
  5. @Jenki75 we lodged our application on the 29th of Nov 2018. Have you been contacted by the CO yet? We recently moved here on a TSS visa. we are in NSW but applied for QLD 190
  6. Hey guys...our TSS visa was granted in 4 days after applying
  7. Do you think the festive holidays will affect the processing time? Do you by any chance know when the DHA is closing and reopening?
  8. Have you been granted your visa yet? We are in the process of applying
  9. @lewisant48 Oh no...that's horrible. Have you applied for the 489 visa?
  10. @lewisant48 How long did it take for your TSS visa to be granted?
  11. We are planning on uploading everything all at once. We have done our PCs but haven't done HCs yet because we might be applying for a TSS visa as well as a PR. We will know what to do by end of this week.
  12. That's great. I hope everything goes well
  13. Some people have advised to submit your documents ASAP. I am assuming that it would make it easier for the CO when your file is worked on. At least they won't have to ask for the documents then wait for submission then wait again to process them. Have you prepared the documents?
  14. My husband is the primary applicant. He is a vet and I'm a social worker. He is claiming my points as well. What's yours?
  15. Husband is the main applicant but also claiming my points. He is a vet and I am a social worker
  16. I hope they contact you soon.
  17. Are you using an MA or you're doing it yourself? I went on to their website BSMQ and found a CO there. She helped me locate where the EOI process was. She indicated that when submitting an EOI choose QLD instead of ANY and if you did that rather delete it and create another one. This is because when a person updates their EOI they can't pick up the changes unless they resubmit. I did so the same day then a few hours later emailed her details of the new EOI and that is why we got an email for nomination in less than 24hours. I would suggest you contact someone that side like we did. It helped a lot. There is a migration email you get on their webpage and then you get assigned a CO who communicates with you and guides you through the process.
  18. We applied for the 190 VISA with my husband as the primary applicant but also claiming points for my skills. We applied for Queensland on Wednesday (24/10/18) got an email from Queensland migration to send some documents for nomination the next morning (25/10/18). We have gathered them and will send them on Monday. Hoping to get a nomination message from the DHA soon. What's yours?
  19. Hi Have you had your qualifications assessed by the AASW? Have you been granted a visa that permits you to live and work in QLD? I am also a social worker but don't have working and living rights yet. Still working on that. Job sites I use a lot is Seek.com and Indeed. You can narrow the search down to where you will be living or to QLD as a whole.
  20. Hi everyone Does anyone know of a visa option similar to the work holiday visa. My Problem is that I cannot apply for the this visa as a South African. It is not listed as one of the countries eligible for the visa. What I want is something that will permit me to work AUS in for a short period of time (not a sponsored visa such as TSS). I have gone through all possible visa options and cannot find something suitable. Please help. TIA
  21. This information is really helpful. We do not have to live in a regional area due to visas, it was just a personal preference as we are not city dwellers. We prefer something relaxed and laid back. I will most definitely take your advise on looking for schools first before looking for a home.
  22. My husband and I are thinking of relocating to Victoria. We prefer living in regional areas. So far we have been looking at areas such as Bendigo and Castlemaine. We have 2 baby girls (5 and 1y6m). How are schools and day-cares in such areas? I have been searching for houses to rent and I like what I am seeing so far. I am quite excited about moving. With most of the posts that I have read here, people live in capital cities and we really do not like such areas. We prefer something laid back and peaceful.
  23. That is great news. I am hoping that you get a positive response. The 30 weeks will mos def work on your patience but you will get there. Good luck and all the best.
  24. My problem is the fact that I do not have work experience. Things are quite hectic in South Africa. Graduated in 2016 (Bachelor of SW with honours) and have been applying ever since without any luck. That is part of the reason why we decided to relocate. We lodged our EOI with my husband as the primary applicant. He is a vet and has 10 years work experience. We also applied to NSW for VISA 190 AND 489. We lodged on the 19th of Aug. We were waiting for my assessment so that he could claim points. So I got a response on the 13th of Aug, wrote an English test a few days later then got results the following day. How long did it take before you were nominated/sponsored?
