  1. No worries. There's a lot of info to navigate! ?
  2. Hi, From my own experience, and from what I've researched online, getting all your paperwork together when submitting the visa application is advisable. For instance, getting your police cerificates in advance means that when they do review your application your case officer won't need to request these (potentially adding a delay). However, I didn't get a medical until after submitting my application. I received a message to organise this about a 2 weeks after submitting my application. So you could do the police checks before and then the medical after? You can do the medical before but I am not sure how they submit your results to Immigration without an active application (hope that makes sense). The only potential issue is that you get your police check/medical now and due to processing times it takes 12 months to get your visa. Potentially, your certificate/medical could have expired meaning you need to get anothet one. There will definitely be accurate information on the Immigration website though. I found the FAQs section really helpful. I am not familiar with family applications but again, the website will have everything you need to assist the process. Also, there are a few immigration agents on this forum who are great at answering questions. Cheers
  3. Hi Kerry, Saw your post so thought I would reply. I applied for the 489 Visa in June (still waiting at the moment). I applied for police checks prior to submitting my application and then when I did apply I uploaded them with the application. They are valid for a year (I think) and, like the medical, there are specific organisations that Immigration require you to use. If it's just a UK police check, then ACRO (www.acro.police.uk) will be who you approach. If you've lived or worked abroad for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (might be more) then you may need to get additional checks. Have a look on the Immigration Website/489 Visa section for more info. Cheers
  4. Hi, yeah it was more how to translate this onto the form. If i put 2015 as my start date the EOI awards me 5 points but if i put 2016 as my start date then i am missing a year from my work history. I emailed a migration advisor and i think i have it cleared up now. As i am not claiming points for work experience I can just include the entire duration of my work experience with this company and then choose the 'Less than 3 years in 10 years' option for the question related to 'Experience in Nominated Occupation" Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I just want to make sure i am completing everything correctly! Phew, its quite a process!! Congrats on your visa! I am looking forward to that day! Cheers
  5. Hi all, I've put this post on couple of the threads but haven't had much luck yet so thought I would try with you guys as you've had some success with the 489 Skilled Visa. I've got an invitation to apply but I am a bit stuck on the Employment History section and the Skills Assessment bit. I have been assessed by VETASSESS for my current role (Health Promotion). However, I only have a positive skills assessment for 2.1 of the 3.1 years I've worked in that role. Is there a way on the visa application to separate the 'relevant' skilled experience with the 'non relevant' when its the same job? Or, do I just include my work history for this role (3.1 years) and whoever reviews my visa application will see from my skills assessment that 2.1 years is deemed 'relevant' and 1 year is deemed 'not relevant'? I haven't claimed any points for my work experience on my EOI. I don't know if I am just overthinking this but I just don't want to get it wrong. Any one got any experience of this where VETASSESS takes a 1 year off for 'training to the appropriate skill level'? Health Promotion: 65 + 10 SS State Nomination: April 2018 Invitation: May 2018 Thanks, Suzie
  6. Hi everyone, This thread hasn't been active for a while but i thought i would try anyway! Hoping someone can help with my query. I am applying for a 489 Skilled Visa for Health Promotion in Queensland. As some of you will be aware VETASSESS deducts a year for training to the appropriate skill level. Therefore, although i have been in the same job for 3.1 years (at time of assessment), i was only deemed skilled for 2.1 years. When i originally filled out my EOI I only put down the time frame deemed 'skilled' by VETASSESS for my relevant work experience in the role i was assessed for. I also included other jobs i've held (part time/during university etc) but marked them all 'not relevant' So, i have a year missing from my work history (the year not deemed skilled in current role). I've realised that i should have included that 'non relevant' year but at the time, i wasn't sure how to include it (i.e. how can I include the same job title at same company twice). Now i have an invitation and so cannot edit or change this. I haven't been allocated any points for my work experience at all (as its less than 3 years) and i am therefore not overclaiming any points. However, if i include this 'not relevant' work experience in my visa application will this be an issue? Does anyone have any experience of this? I know its up to me at the end of the day if i submit or not but would be good to know others experience. Any help appreciated.
