  1. So sorry to hear mate, that's gutting. What a sickening time to be waiting for a refusal. Did they give a reason? What are you going to do now? Have you used a migration agent??
  2. My worry is will my Visa get denied on the basis my employer isn't giving me the hours I need, or was promised, for it?? Although there is the work here, they're just giving a new employee more hours on the basis of me eventually going on maternity leave. I have been working for my employer for 2 years next month, I don't know how much more I can take but will not leave because I want my Visa so badly!
  3. Thank you mate, appreciate it! Every time I speak with my MA, I get more and more confused about the 187 obligations, restrictions etc! Perhaps I will email again and ask what hours I am meant to be getting because last time I was told that while the Visa is processing, I don't technically even have to work for my employer! All these technicalities are confusing! I have emailed fair work too, I will keep you all updated with what I find out, in case anyone is in a similar situation.
  4. Does anyone know who is best to speak to, in terms of our rights? After almost 2 years working with my employer, my hours may be getting cut again and another employee has been given more hours and a pay rise after only being here for 6 months. This was also done on the basis I will be going on maternity leave in 5 months. Do I have any leg to stand on or is it the same as usual, we just shut up and take it?! I thought we were meant to be treated as equal to an Aussie employee, let alone that I'm sure I can't be discriminated against because I'm pregnant? I'm at my wits end with all this. Working my ass off for 2 years and paying all this for a Visa when I'm treated like half a worker.
  5. Mine is much the same except i'm in WA. Visa lodged 12.04.2017 RCB approved 17.05.2017 Occupation: Personal Assistant Still nothing! Which is confusing me as people are getting their cases looked at soon after RCB approval by the looks of things?
  6. Fully agree that there is only so much one person can take. I could deal with the waiting if I wasn't stuck on a shitty $500 a week, barely able to pay bills, no money for food shopping and a baby on the way, with no certainty for my future. Living the bloody dream!!
  7. That's okay, click on this link, https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login and that will take you to the Department of Home Affairs immigration login. There should be prompts to help you if you haven't logged in before. Sorry I cant help more, I can't remember the process myself!
  8. Yeah saw that, I'm just wondering why it has disappeared from my Immi account! Wondering if it is just part of an update or whether it's a glitch?
  9. Has anyone else estimated processing time gone missing from their immi account?? Mine hasn't shown one for couple of days now?
  10. Oh and as a side note, in the 36 months I have been in Australia, only 2 of those weren't spent in regional WA. 6 months in 1 spot, 28 in my current ? so I absolutely know that regional Australia is where you will get the most authentic experience!
  11. I think my intentions have been misconstrued in all of this. I am only asking on the basis that (as said before) the business I work for has had major funding cuts under the current government and therefore I am uncertain that it will even be open in another 2 years. I'm also asking from the point of view that, should I be offered a position (still in regional WA) which has better opportunities, I wanted to know that I have the option to change employers. Finally, I have stated my concerns due to the fact I am pregnant. I would have been working with my current employer for 2 and a half years by the time baby comes and so need to know whether my partner will need to give up work and be a stay at home Dad, in order for me to continue in my position to guarentee my visa. At no point have I stated that I will be moving to the city. Once/if I get to a point where I am able to move more freely, we will be moving to somewhere which is still considered regional. The advice given is, and will be, appreciated but at the end of the day I am going to trust the advice of my registered MA. I know everyone thinks they're an expert when it comes to this, I have a cousin who is the exact same way, however each case is different, with different circumstances. I am not claiming that I am right, or that what applies to me applies to everybody else, but I think its evident from this thread that there is so much conflicting evidence you are best to speak to your MA to find out which applies to you.
  12. Haha aren't we all though?! In saying that after 15 months of waiting I'm sure we have the right to be feeling a little impatient! It's difficult isn't it, especially when people say "think of the bigger picture" yes I understand that but the bigger picture is full of debt, set backs and increased waiting times from our point of view haha! Do you have an MA? Speak to them about your concerns. After feeling like I was a nuisance to mine, he really pulled through yesterday and emailed back saying that asking questions is what they are there for and not too take too much advice from forums as each case is different. It's great hearing other people's perspective but unfortunately visas aren't black and white so it can get very overwhelming and confusing with all the different info and opinions. This was part of my update from my MA: Once your visa is granted you are required to stay in the State for 2 years, not with your employer. if you leave your employer to take up better opportunities but stay in WA you wont lose your visa. Im going to trust his word as he is the registered MA out of the two of us, and he handled my application so knows it better than I do! I hope things at work get better and your prospective family plans fall in to place ?
  13. Thanks so much for your input everyone! I was sure my registered agent wouldn't have lied to me in regards to my visa information. I have emailed them regardless, to get some light on the situation so I will let you know what he says in response as soon as I get it. The MA I have chosen may not be the friendliest or most understanding in my anxieties, but in saying that I don't know anyone who has gone with them who have had an unsuccesful application! As for my employer, the business is in trouble due to recent government changes and therefore I don't even know if they will be open in 2 years time, hence why I'm a bit stressed! When they said babies make things a little more complicated, they weren't lying, perhaps we should have waited until my future was certain...in saying that though I never wanted the easy life haha! ?? spent my whole life not wanting children and boom, meet the one guy that changed everything last year! I think either way what is meant for us won't go past us, so wishing you all the best of luck with your visa process, it's nice to know people are in the same boat as me and I have found somewhere I can actually vent/talk about it all :) I will post today once my MA has emailed me back and let you all know the scoop!! Until then, have a wonderful day, every day in this amazing country is a blessing! ??
