  1. Thanks, I only thought that because the original person that posted only mentioned offshore.
  2. I take it this is Offshore only, so if you apply onshore you would still have to snail mail a cheque or pay the huge credit card fees?
  3. Thanks for your reply. My parents had a couple of red flags, nothing major, but it would be good to know it's complete instead of waiting, waiting, waiting! Oh well.
  4. Thank you for replying. I logged into the eMedical Client and all the details are still there. It doesn't say incomplete or complete?! I guess just wait and see.
  5. Anyone have any idea how it takes from when you go to Bupa to getting the result? Parents went to Bupa last Tuesday 28/9, got an email (assume automated) saying results with Immi in 5 days. Do date nothing and nothing on our online account?!
  6. We have used Transferwise, very happy with them. You can also set up daily emails to update you on the rate. We found it provided the best rate. You can also lock a rate for 24 hours. Google it, hope it helps!
  7. We applied for 804 Feb 2016 (note heard a peep since other than acknowledgement a day or so after lodging) and got a request for Police, Health and Character Assessment (form 80) this morning – Great news! Unfortunately at exactly the same moment we sent the 864 contributory forms and they are currently with a courier to Perth! Agr – What are the chances??!! Literally within an hour of courier arriving to collect forms I get the email for info! It would be handy to get all the forms in so that when Immi eventually assess the 864 they have all the forms, but I guess I have to now wait on them asking for this info for the 864 visa??? Thoughts?!
  8. No, but I'm trying to decide if worth spending $100K for 2 contributory visas. What is the benefit? Access to Medicare?
  9. I called The Dept of Human Services and asked how it would work if I was the assurer and was on mat leave. Mary, the lady I spoke to said it would be fine, there would not be a problem. I was give a record number and noted her name, the date and time of the call. I'm now concerned as it looks like your daughter was assessed on her mat income and you had to find co-assurer. Would you be able to clarify, as I can't see info on how it works if your'e on mat leave as the assurer on the Dept of Human Services website and it I may have been given incorrect info over the phone! ? Thanks in advance.
  10. Thanks, but my parents are not even in the queue yet, they submitted and were receipted in Feb 16, the Dept are only just assessing for queue date March 16 applicants. So, if they get in the queue this year (which looks likely) then their queue date would be 2018. The Dept are currently finalising applications for a visa those with a queue date of 2010. It's been that date for quite some time! There are about 4000 infront of my parents (and they're not even in the queue yet). Thanks though.
  11. Yes, they are onshore and have applied on shore for the non contributory visa and would apply on shore for the contributory parent visa.
  12. Hi Tulip, As a tax payer totally agree on the 10 year wait for pension. What I was trying to say is that do you have to wait 10 years for the concession card, ie you don't get the concession card until you are eligible to pension. My parents will be unlikely to be around for the pension and $100K is a lot of money so I'm trying to advise them whether to go for contributory or stick it out in the queue for non contributory visa (they will never get!).
  13. So to summarise if I have understood this correctly, there are 3 cards. Cont Parent Visa holders at some point will be eligible to: NSW Seniors card = Gold Opal and a few other minor discounts, ie not worth much, get this immediately. Pensioners Concession Card = Only get this card when you get the aged pension, ie 10 years after being a PR: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/pensioner-concession-card/eligibility/who-can-get-it Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card = Qualifies non-pensioners to discounted scripts, BUT this is the bill govt are trying to put through to have PR’s wait 4 years. Subject to the passage of legislation**** If PR approved before 1st July you will get this card, after 1st July if the legislation is passed you will wait another 4 years (after you get PR).
