  1. Hi everyone Hoping for your help. I arrived in Aus in Jan 2019 on a PMV 300. Since got married and then applied for the 820/801 in May 2109. I was issued with the 820 a month later although I had been advised it can take 18 months. Whilst this is great news and I’m really pleased, I’m a little confused about what this means in terms of the 801. Do I have to wait 2 years and it will be granted automatically or do I have to submit further documentation. Just really confused so any advice would be great. Thank you H
  2. Hi @andana Stick at it and you’ll find something. I was pretty impatient and wanted to get something straight away. I ended up with 2 job offers, so wished I’d chilled out a little instead of stressing myself out about work. But isn’t hindsight fantastic! Just keep applying and register with a couple of agencies. Read up about the fair work act and use the time to perhaps do some of the short free online courses they have online. Will show initiative when it comes to interviews. Good luck and let us know how you get on!
  3. @Marisawright I did consider whether the visa itself is causing an issue given that it expires in May. We are getting married in Feb at which point I’ll apply for the next visa which hopefully should help alleviate any concerns from potential employers. I have reached out on LinkedIn and updated my status, made cv public etc so hopefully I’ll get some movement over the next few weeks. Thank you for your response.
  4. @VERYSTORMY thanks for the response. I haven’t thought about recruitment being quieter over the summer months. Will take this into consideration and be a little more patient. Totally appreciate that it will take much longer than perhaps it would’ve back in the UK - thanks again.
  5. Hi everyone I was hoping for some advice. I have recently moved to Melbourne from the UK on a PMV visa and have pretty much applied for all the jobs that are out there that meet my skill set as a HR Business Partner. I’m finding that I’m not getting any responses and finding it really difficult to get any traction. Im at the point where I’m getting really down about the whole job search process and was wondering if anyone can provide any pointers on how to just get a response to my application. I feel the recruitment process is very different over here and could really do with an understanding of where I’m going wrong. Sorry if this is just sounding like a moan but working is really important for me, if not just for my own sanity! Thanks in advance to anyone who has any any advice. H xx
  6. Thanks for your responses @TheWayOfThePony and @paulhand I Was getting a little concerned that I might have to lodge quite soon after the civil ceremony had taken place. Ive taken note about the marriage certificate so will get on that straight away once married as I need it for the religious ceremony in April also. Thank you!
  7. Thanks @paulhand sorry it should’ve said 31 May 2019! Ill have a month to lodge after my religious ceremony but will ensure all paperwork is ready to be uploaded to ensure it’s not too tight. I dont want to lodge before then as I’m not sure if there’s restrictions on flying out the country once the 801/820 is lodged.
  8. Hi everyone - hoping for some advice please. Ive been granted the PMV which expires on 31 August 2019. We are getting married in February in Australia. We will be having a religious ceremony in the UK in April. I wanted to understand how quickly after getting married I must lodge the 801/820? Can I wait until after the ceremony in April? Or should it be lodged as soon as the civil ceremony has taken place in Australia? Sorry I’m just a little confused - thank you
  9. Thanks everyone - fingers crossed for everyone still waiting that they too hear some good news
  10. Hi @Tulip1 PMV is a prospective marriage visa. Thanks @Quinkla so excited to have finally been granted the visa!
  11. Hi everyone It’s been really quiet on here wth PMV grants and I wanted to share my good news today! I received a call & email from my agent today advising that my PMV had been granted. I applied December 2017 off shore in the U.K. Everything was frontloaded and I wasn’t requested to provide any further information. Visa was issued today 31 August. So excited! Good luck to everyone still waiting, I’m sure you’ll all receive some positive news soon too!
  12. Hi @Saini2018 I applied on 14 December 2018 and haven’t heard anything. Will be 6 months this week. Do you have a caseofficer assigned or did you decide to frontload everything. I know many have waited much longer and 6 months is probably a short period. It just puts life on hold having to wait with no response.
  13. @Noodlejaffa I was also thinking the same that PMV 300 grants seem to be very quiet, unless people haven't advised of their visas being granted. I lodged my off shore application on 14 December 2017 and it's been pretty quiet ever since. Has anyone else had any movement?
  14. @TheWayOfThePony thank you for your response - fingers crossed!
