  1. Yeah, I’ll be getting an air bnb or something like that, possibly more than once to suss our a few areas. I’ve decided to go with the Victoria Point job, the commute looks easier, seems a nicer area and the DWS changed today and Caboolture isn’t on it anymore so it’d take ages to sort my exemption out. Decision made!
  2. Thanks for the advice. I’m trying to decide between the 2 job locations- Caboolture and Victoria Point. I’ve been to Australia a few years back but can’t remember the areas too well. I was thinking of taking the Caboolture post as I was hoping to be able to then choose between living on the coast or in the city when I’d been there a few months but I’m not sure if that’s an option now given the uncertainty about the commute. I’d ideally live in central Brisbane so I can do more and meet more people of the same age. I’m worried about feeling isolated and alone on the coast.
  3. I live in London at the minute. I’m happy with a commute of 45 mins average and I can start work from 7am so could do an earlier start to avoid traffic. I’m very conscious of being vaguely young, single and stuck on my own in the middle of nowhere! I’ve also got the option of working in Victoria point, any idea how the traffic would be across the city?
  4. Thanks for the help. I did google maps it and it said around 50 mins but I never really trust this. I’ve heard the traffic is horrific into Brisbane, which is understandable, but I wondered how it was going out of Brisbane and in central Brisbane generally? Also, how much do the toll roads cost there?
  5. I have a job in Caboolture to start later this year. I’m aware it isn’t a great area to live in so I’m looking at living in Brisbane and commuting there. I’m a single female going over alone so want to live somewhere lively with things to do and people to meet. Any suggestions on areas of Brisbane and rough estimates on commute time? I drive and would start at 7.30 am so would hopefully miss some rush hour traffic....?
  6. Hi! After some advice on where to live in QLD. I’ve possibly got a job in Burpengary, I’m living in London at the minute but I’m over city life and would love to live close to the beach. I’m in my 30s, single and would be moving there alone. The Sunshine Coast looks beautiful but I’m worried it’s going to be too quiet and that I won’t meet people to make friends with. Not sure whether to look for jobs on the GC instead?
