  1. I was recently granted a 4 year TSS visa and we (me, husband & 3 cats) are moving to Adelaide September 17th for me to start work on the 24th. Excited mucho, but also slightly pooping myself. So, hit me with anything Adelaide - related: where the cool kids hang out, the best gyms, restaurants & bicycle shops, nicest areas to live, worst areas to live, anything!
  2. I have very recently been granted a TSS visa and one of the requirements is for me to have health insurance. I am moving to Adelaide from the Uk, however not a UK citizen, but my husband is. On both our visa it is mentioned that maintaining health insurance is a requirement
  3. I have 11 years under my belt
  4. I assumed I had to do a skills assessment as it is a requirement for the 189 (I am a veterinary surgeon), but apparently not for the TSS, which tbh, is fine by me! I just attached all my diplomas etc and off it went. Let the planning begin!
  5. Actually, I was still waiting for my Skills Assessment approval when I put the visa application through. as a matter of fact I am still waiting for my skills assessment, however, today I received an email to say my visa has been granted! Applied May 13th, so not bad going time wise. Well chuffed I might say.
  6. I have recently submitted a TSS 482 application. Nomination went through very quickly and I instantly submitted the application with all documents I could think off they want to see. Just waiting for my skills assessment approval. In regards to processing time they say no info available due to low application numbers however it mentions 11-17 days on my immi account. We hope to leave for Adelaide end of September, so hope to get everything sorted asap! Anyone else that has applied for the TSS?
  7. I am waiting to hear back regarding my skills assessment as I needed to register with the veterinary board prior first, but I assume that will not be a problem. Doesn't it also depend on one's profession whether an invitation is sent? So a profession in higher demand may not require as high a score as a profession in less high demand, even though both are on the list?
  8. I am a visa newbie, so would like some advice on our situation: will apply for a sponsored skilled visa (job offers in the pocket, will accept one next week) and hopefully will be able to start new job late September/early October. New employer is pre-approved sponsor so hopefully application shouldn't take too long. Skills assessment pending. However, my plan is to apply for a 189 at the same time, as I want to have the freedom to work wherever I want for whoever I want. IELTS done, medical scheduled, police records requested, documents scanned in, form 80 filled out, should have 65 points at least (I know it's not an awful lot, but since I'll have a sponsored visa I am not in much of a hurry). Anyone who has followed the same route to obtain PR and willing to offer advice on the do's and don'ts?
  9. Would you mind sharing with me how you did this? When I try to start a new application through my immi account it only comes up with the New Zealand stream 189. Very frustrating as I cannot find the answer!
  10. We are actually contemplating moving to Perth. Contenders are Adelaide and....drum roll.... Geelong. This article is really selling it I have to say. May make the decision which job to accept a tad easier... or not, just how you look at it!
  11. I sat the IELTS very recently and came out with ok scores, however, would like to try again for higher scores. Does anyone know whether new test results will invalidate my initial test results? Or could I use either result for my visa application?
