Hi all,
I'm in very early stages of applying for a Visa for Australia. I'm 25 years old, I hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering Technology with 2 years work experience working with an Airbus supplier in Germany. I also hold IMI level 3 in Automotive Maintenance & Repair with 2 years experience in the automotive industry in UK. I also hold a MOT testing license.
I moved to UK in 2002. I took primary, secondary and tertiary education in the UK and would like to know if I need to take an English IELTS test?
The Engineers Australia Migration Skills Assessment booklet states: https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/2017-11/MSA Booklet August 2017 - PTE updates.pdf
The following applicants may be exempt from the requirement to provide an English language test:
• Applicants who have completed an Australian undergraduate engineering qualification
• Applicants who are native English speakers. A native English speaker is a person who lived and was educated (primary, secondary and tertiary education) in the country where the official language is English: Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada
Questions:
1. Do I need to take an English IELTS test and if so what band score should I aim for?
2. Would I be better by applying for a Skilled Independent Visa (189)?
3. Which field of work has a better chance of me obtaining a visa either engineering or automotive?
4. Should I go through a UK agency to aid me with skills assessment / visa application or is this a process which can be done without an agency?
5. Is there any specific CV layout in Australia which I should be aware of?
These are the questions I have currently any help appreciated..
Thanks,
Saif
