Yeah, but one of the offices of the companies I worked for no longer exists. So itll have to be a stat dec im afraid "If you are unable to obtain an employment reference on a company letterhead from your employer, a third party official Statutory Declaration or Affidavit written by a work colleague may be considered" So for this company I do indeed need a stat dec.

Yeah I will probably do that. Any advice on the stat decs? If my colleague writes one in the UK, who can witness it? Police officer, pharmacist? Who else please?

Hi there, Just thought id ask for some advice and help on a skilled visa..my visa history is messy. I have a migration agent but tbh, hes not telling me the full info I need. So im applying for a skilled visa and want to take the acs skill assesment for software engineer (software designer). My background is in videogame qa engineering and design and my diploma and degree is the same. (Bahons game design, btec games development). Just wondering the exact sort of references I would need from former colleagues? My agent has told me to just get a letterhead off my former employers, (who are in the uk, I am in melbourne) but hes not explained if references and stat decs need to be signed and witnessed by someone in the UK or if I can take them to be signed over here..or who even can sign them. If anyone has attempted to apply for a skilled visa whilst they are over here and needed references from the uk, can you please advise what steps you have taken? Thank you.
