  1. Absolutely but just thought I’d share as there may be others in this predicament. Nobody likes to complain really I just felt scammed out of a couple of hundred quid. Nice result though, think I’ll not follow up on the complaint. Sharry x
  2. So good morning everyone who has been following my thread for many months. We have just got back from Australia for a second visit on a tourist visa (1st Feb 19, 2nd Feb 20). The visa timeline for an RRV is as follows; granted initial visa way back in 1995!! back and forth for a few years then had a gap for a few years due to family illness and death of Father. Oct 2018 Applied for RRV 155 Dec 2018, Immi requests more info, submitted that week. Left awaiting outcome for months. I did email that RRV email someone mentioned but it was basic stat reply, I also called (premium number) but they couldn’t advise either, again a waste of time and money. So after this trip I felt enough was enough and I’d nothing to lose so filed a complaint via their website ‘compliments, comments & Complaints’ or something to that title. This was yesterday, I stated how I was left in limbo, paid for a service but not received the service etc etc.... this morning!!! Ta Dar....... VISA GRANT!!! in my inbox was a reply to my complaint stating they would look into it and if I wanted to add anything to get in touch then a few hours later an Immi Grant and number!! Checked my Immi account and it is there a Visa 155 valid for a year!! Complaint resolved if you ask me!!! good luck everyone xx Sharry
  3. Hi, my application says ‘further assessment’ it was received some months ago. It simply says when I click on the further assessment the following; ’This application is currently being assessed. The department may contact the applicant if further supporting documentation is required.’ It’s taking its time!! good luck with everyone else Sharry
  4. Glad you’re all sorted, you’ll have a lovely trip I’m sure. I on on the other hand are now 14 months and still waiting!! I’ve pretty much ignored it now, what a waste of time, effort and money is what I am currently feeling. Hey ho.... limbo Sharry
  5. Hi Jason, nice to know I’m not alone in this waiting game, keep us posted. Im still waiting...... limbo land. Sharry
  6. No I’m afraid we are a couple of weeks shy of a whole year waiting!! I’m starting to wonder if they just hope the applications go away all by themselves!! It is a bit ridiculous when it’s only valid a year when they give it you (if they give it). Sorry you’re also in this position but good to know I’m not alone. I did send a couple of emails to the RRV one and then I also sent an attachment photo just to see if it would prompt anyone but sadly No.... i will post if I hear good or bad good luck
  7. Hi Clare, no no still no news, it was October 11th so that’s almost 10mth which for a 1 year RRV is slow to say the least but it’s not a no, yet. I’m thinking of trying to add another info sheet to see if that prompts someone to look and decide, worth a shot I think. Sharry
  8. Hi, no such luck yet still pending!!! its been 9 months to date for a 12 month visa!! Seems absurd eh but we shall just enjoy the British summer and hope for news soon. I will post our outcome as soon as we get one. Thanks Sharry
  9. Hi Samran that’s great news, I may have to email them myself just to know one way or another as we went for a holiday in Feb but plan now to go back Feb 20 if they approve it!! thanks for the update, it’s always good to hear. Sharry
  10. That makes sense to how mine was then. Cant believe I submitted the application on 11th Oct 2018 and no news, even from December when I added the extra it’s still ages!!
  11. I’m sure they have as when I went to add the info again there was then a separate section which wasn’t there on the original. Anyway I’m still wondering if anyone is in the same situation waiting for so long. Thanks
  12. Ha ha yeah but what they wanted I’d already provided and they are all the ties I have, job offer from previous employer and family citizenship info etc.... that was in December and no one has declined it or asked for more info. To be honest the electronic form for attaching documents is not a great system as it doesn’t allow you to separate ties from compelling reasons so I think that is why they just asked again. Anyway still waiting and wanted to know if anyone else was in the same boat, it’s so frustrating when it says 12 wk.
  13. Hi, I applied in October 2018 too and still waiting. In December I got a request for more info but I didn’t have anything extra to offer them so repeated the same info (tbh I don’t think they read it properly as it was clearly there). Mine too says post June 2018 which wasn’t there before but that doesn’t worry me. I can’t believe it’s taking so long, I have a job offer but I’m not likely going to be in that position long as it’s teaching I’m wanting to be applying for but can’t do that without valid residency visa!! Oh what a nightmare waiting is. Have you had any news?
  14. Thanks Paulhand, I’ve chased them till I’m blue in the face, emailed residentsreturn@homeaffairs twice but just a standard reply then I have called Canberra but the lovely guy there is just script reading, never even took my reference number. We do have definite holiday plans as my wife has been quite ill so we’ll go, we have return flights booked and leave from work so it’s obvious we’re not staying in Aus, I’m now hoping they issue the visa 6 month after we get back (bit more planning time). Thanks again for replying your posts are always helpful and stand out from the rest.
  15. Hi, thanks good to know Paulhand, I’m a former permanent resident and applied for a RRV on 11th October 2018, still waiting as it states ‘further assessment’ hoping it will be soon however if I travel on an evisitor am I right to think it can’t cancel what I haven’t got? anyone else waiting these timeframes for RRV? I don’t meet 2yr residency requirement but meet the rest of the requirements to apply. Seems a long wait compared with my previous RRVs some years ago. Thanks
  16. Thanks again everyone, (starting to wish I’d not mentioned by beautiful kids/young adults now! (Fostered/adoption) not relevant to my original question, but see the confusion now) Will see an agent as kindly suggested by Paulhand. Thanks ?
  17. I lived there, Children didn’t but visited regularly, thanks all your advice though.
  18. No they have never lived in aus, we lived there pre-kids then just had RRVs in the past which expired 09 but never actually got to move back for good so now hoping to! we took the kids on many trips but under the 3 months holiday visas for them. Got to now check Uni costs and if the youngest will be eligible without it costing the earth.
  19. Thanks Paul that’s good to know, very close to sister and children, 1 over here with us for 2yrs going back next year! As for RRV we will apply for child 101 for 17yo as he’s in education but the 21yo is a qualified joiner/carpenter so will apply for residency in own right. We know they can’t be added though lots of ppl think they can!! Thanks for all your advice it’s much appreciated, will start gathering our ties info first I think. Sharry
  20. Thanks Paul, yes I’m aiming at gathering all the info, hospital clinical letters/reports and also the evidence of substantial ties (Sister & her Children) before submitting it, we came back originally because Dad died and we had no kids but sister in ASU’s did so less disruptive for us to move back to uk then after that Mum got ill, more recently had the stroke but recovered now so hoping that’s enough. We’re 48 & 45, have Children also now so it’s our last chance to go back really as I know over 50 it gets complicated in terms of paying into the system long enough before retiring. Any advice would be very welcomed in terms of what would be needed in the application. Thanks again.
  21. Thanks if be happy with a 1 year one, my mum had a stroke so I had to return then 1 year spread to several as they do and now she is well I’d love to go back just not sure they’d accept my reasons!
  22. Has anyone experienced applying when we have been out of the country 9 years? We were residents when we left and would like to go back, have sister there so family ties are ok. What’s people’s experience of getting an RRV. Thanks
  23. Thanks so much Natalie, I did wonder about the restrictions so I think it’s going to be easier to top up to degree!! im not far off really and can do the units part time over 12-18mth if I get going. I see Derby uni do an online course (costly though) so may go that route while I have time. Youngest is at college (3rd best in the UK) & it was really tough competition for places so I’m not pulling him out, he finishes June/July 2019 so I’ve time. Thank you for the info though I may see if it’s a cheaper option via NZ
  24. Hi I know it’s been a while since you posted but I have the same; DipHE Actually in RNLD in 2008 post grad certificate in epilepsy care worth 45 credits at level 6 in 2011. Ive only worked in paediatrics and since my epilepsy certificate I’ve been a Band 6 afc Paediatric Epilepsy Specialist Nurse. Does anyone know if this is enough to be registered with AHPRA? or should I top up to degree? or can I just get another 15 credits which I think is what would be a bachelors without Hons? We were PR in 1996 to 2010 but have lived mostly in UK so will have to reapply for a RRV when our youngest finishes college June 2019. Thanks to all for any advice, need to move back soon as Hubby & me not getting any younger (48 & 45) Sharry
  25. Hi Amber, thanks for your post, can’t see an issue with RRVs as we’ve had family bereavement and illness to sort hence we stayed back in UK, also got sister who is Aus Citizen for last 25yrs. We moved back once when my in law was ill then died & it was approved for 5yrs then but should qualify for 1yr & if not we can appeal when you have a brother/sister or parent who is an Aus Citizen. Just found an article on NMBA though stating that DipHE RNLD, MH or Child will be assessed and likely granted with a 1yr supervision requirement so feeling a little more optimistic for my future even if I have to climb back up the ladder. thanks
