Hi, my daughter turned 16 recently, before I finished the citizenship application. I tried to create an application specifically for her, but immi says that they can’t verify her identity and block the application. Should 16 year olds still on the application of their parents? thanks

Hi, I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered. I started my citizenship application using my immi account, but while the questionnaire asked about our children, I didn't find where to put my wife's details (she is on my PR visa). Are we supposed to have 2 separate applications or did I miss something? Thanks!

But still not clear if you have 2 passports Now I am not sure whether it was absolutely necessary to provide the 2 passports when we applied to the visa!

Absolutely correct. If going abroad and coming back to Australia, the border agents check the passport and they find the visa associated with the passport. You don't present a print out of your grant when you come back in Australia to demonstrate that you are allowed in. If you use MyVevo app, you will see that you have your passport number linked to your grant.

Agree, but I was curious in the case of 2 passports. My kids have 2 nationalities, and my MA requested both passports. Now, one of them has changed and normally I must update the details on the visa, but I can only see one passport on the account.

Even with a PR, the immigration still want to have your details up to date. Details include postal address and passport number. The visa is linked to a passport number and MUST be up to date

Hi All, Does anyone know how to record 2 passports in the immi account? When I applied to my PR I gave the 2 passports to my MA (upon their request) and was expecting to find them both on my account. I now have to change one of them and can't see it in the account. Any ideas? Thanks PS: I already have my PR visa, so I don't want to go back to my MA to ask.

I agree, unless the submission was not complete or having red flags (no idea what they are... country, occupation???) then there is no reason for not being within the 75%. I received mine in 5 months (in April '18), using Deloitte as MA (they advised to submit a ready to process application - i.e. with everything requested, including medicals). Having said that I understand the stress and frustration the wait generates...

What make you say that few people are getting their grants early? There is no reason to believe that 75% of applicants do not receive their grants within the 10-12 months specified by the immigration.This (very good) forum is only a small sample of applicants. As for the order of processing, immi themselves are very clear on the fact that they are not processing the applications in order of submission. Occupation, country of origin, sponsor, complete applications, etc certainly have an impact in the order of processing.

Some MA advise to lodge a complete application, including medicals (although, given the current timelines there is a risk that they need to be re-done) as immigration might consider full applications before incomplete ones (it used to be on the immi website, not sure if it is still there)

The immigration department has clearly said that they are not processing applications sequentially, it is a risk based approach (complete application, and I guess - no proof there - occupation, country of origin, sponsor?)

I think you mis-understand the figures. The processing time is not 11 to16 months. It means that 75% of applications are processed in less than 11 months - in other words, the majority of applications are processed in less than 11 months. I do not deny that it is long and a painful wait, but saying that the processing time is between 11 and 16 months is misleading.

Big company in Australia, with an established name worldwide, so my guess is that in terms of risk management, the risk is certainly lower with a well and established company than with a 10 persons company. For the immigration, it's all about making sure that the migrant will not have a negative impact on the finance of Australia (hence the medicals - no immediate impact on medicare, skills assessment, etc). But I might be wrong...

No, nothing, or nothing that I am aware of. My employer has its own immigration department with dedicated lawyers dealing with the employees visas. Some documents might have been provided without my knowledge but I doubt it.

Hi, I received my PR yesterday, this is a big relief, and I can certainly feel for the people having waited 1 year or more ! Occupation: ICT Business analyst Visa Type: 186 ENS Direct Stream Onshore Country: Low Risk Visa/nomination lodged: 03/11/2017 Visa granted: 10/04/2018 I am convinced that the sponsor and complete applications influence the priorities.

and to be complete (and fair), I am sure the immigration services do their best and chose the most efficient way to process the applications. They had 16.000 applications lodged in June 2017, this is a huge number!

Congrats, It shows that the process is not stalled or slowing down (based on your application date). However it also shows that the criteria to process is not clear... The Nov. eNews letter said that they stopped processing application by order of submission date, but the criteria used are not clear ("low risk approach")... country of origin/onshore/off shore, occupation and skill level, number of applicants... who knows...
