AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

well I'd say democracy is being gradually replaced by dictatorship globally now. Chinese government dropped the presidential terms a few days ago; The President of U.S Trump wiped out those who hold opposite political ideas just now; and it is time for Australia now -

Hi guys, I got this this afternoon and just wanted to share with everyone in this forum: Tony Burke tony@tonyburke.com.au via sg.actionnetwork.org 1:38 PM (1 hour ago) to me YE, Talk about an anticlimax. After creating an expectation that the Government would reveal all the detail of their new Citizenship Bill last night, the Minister released almost no detail at all. I’ve gone through the speech carefully and while referring to a whole lot of things, he provided no further information. In fact he even said that he wanted to discuss the concepts further before anything was introduced to the Parliament. What we’ve seen over the last few days has been a media stunt rather than a policy announcement but there’s a few thing we can be sure of. Firstly, they will change the dates but there will still be an unreasonable delay, that will mean some people would be waiting more than a decade. Secondly, they want to use the same expensive IELTS testing regime that the universities use and apply it to anyone who wants to become and Australian citizen When we get specifics I’ll let you know. But you can be guaranteed that Labor fought for you last time, and we will fight for you again. Tony. Authorised by T. Burke, Shop 29, 1 Broadway Punchbowl NSW 2196 Sent via ActionNetwork.org. I am afraid I cant agree with you my friend. Please think about this scenario - Your friend applied way after you did but attended the ceremony last week, while you are struggling to get your test appointment. Would you call to clarify? What is worse, this is not my assumption. According to Whirlpool and many other forums FILO does happen, and it happens quite often. -

Hi @Chris N Lora It's okay. I dont really call it 'plight' because my application is only 10 months old. I am not in a hurry any more as I have lost the job opportunity. Well, it seems I have nothing to worry about now. Thanks everyone. All the best. Regards, Ed -

Hi all, Morning. An update for myself: I got a phone call from the DIBP yesterday afternoon and was told NOT TO CONTACT THEM ANYMORE. I was also told that I contacted them 8 times in different ways – emails, calls, complaints etc.... He said they won't consider my application within 12 months. That's it. His name is Andrew and he was polite though. -

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

I got a lady Ombudsman's call this morning telling me that my waiting time hasn't exceeded 15 months as per the DIBP website says thus they couldn't investigate further. Strongly suggest everyone who is experiencing unreasonable delay, especially for those waiting more than 14 months, lodge your valuable complaints to the DIBP first then Ombudsman. Their call implies that they are actually working on this issue otherwise they could have let our complaints stay online/drawer forever – like our applications for the Citizenship. Again, everyone please make your voice sound. We are Australian Residents and we will be Australians! We dont deserve this! -

Hi All, 75%: 12 months 90%:15 months (was 14 months) now.... Based on this pattern we could probably assume that some of us may have to wait more than 24 months.
