    RRV Visa

Hi all, I'm a permanent resident of Australia, and currently have a resident return visa which expires in July 2022. I'm currently out of Australia for the last 8 months or so. Just wanted to check, what are the conditions for maintaining my residency, I've read somewhere that to get my next resident return visa, I have to be in Australia for 2 years out of the 5 years... Is that correct?? And if it is, then do we have to be in the country for 2 years consecutively or it just has to be 2 years within 5 years? Hope to hear from you all soon

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

Attach a letter stating your travel plans in your IMMI account online, that's the only thing you can do apparently... I cleared my test on 30.11.18, still waiting for approval, although I have been in n out of the country a lot... And I need to leave again in April, this is Sydney office though... I'm pretty close to withdrawing my application as well as its getting a bit too much for me and not sure if it's worth all that..

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

Hmm not sure if that's correct, I had to mention every single country I went to even though it wasn't for 90 days, in the last 10 years... So pls make it sure that ur on the same page, coz then it might delay ur application...

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

Thanks rammygirl, so I do a lot of volunteering work around Nepal and in the last year or so, I have had a lot of commitments over there which require me to be there, and leaving them and running back for citizenship approval is becoming a big hindrance for me, generally the approval comes through right after the test which didn't happen in my case and they asked me to get back within 1 month of me being away which is not what I need right now...and then they have asked for PCC for the time i was away, and I wasn't away for 90days continously in any of the countries, so yea it's just a bit of being back n forth and them not giving a time frame which I feel is not worth it... So just hoping to keep my PR and think about citizenship when I'm a bit more settled, as I can't be wasting my time n efforts just waiting around... Hopefully they can give me some concrete answers soon as I need to head back in a month or so again

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

I just checked my immi account and the application status is still received.. I'm not sure what's happening there.. Maybe that's why I've been asked to get back to Australia in the next 28 days..

Hi joanna congrats... Can I please check, once we clear the test, isn't that an indication of approval as well... I'm just a bit confused what this approval means... I cleared my test on 30th November 2018, how do I check if its been approved??? I did get 100% in my test.

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

Hi all, I cleared my test on 30th November 2018, and then had to leave Australia. I received an email from the citizenship department, asking me to be back in the country within 28 days.. I'm guessing that they won't issue me a ceremony invitation unless I'm in the country.. Is that right?? Also, once I get the invite, is it possible to postpone the ceremony?? I've read somewhere that we have to get the ceremony done within a year of clearing the test, is that true as well?? Has anyone postponed there ceremony date?? Please advise Thank you so much

    AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

Thanks for that in sight... Helped... I applied from Sydney, and I left around March... And I won't be back until December, but I'm sure I spoke to them before I left and mentioned that I'll be away for a while due to some family issues, and they did say that they will send me an email for the test date... Hence I've been waiting.. But I reckon, you are right, they will probably wait for me to get back and then send me a test date... Hopefully that's not too long duration,, can they cancel my application if I'm away for 8 months or so??
