Hello, folks who have gone through the AOS application process, would you be able to help me with one of the questions. It asks "What is your current annual taxable income?". Is centerlink looking for income obtained year to date, or are they looking for an estimation of the income over the current financial year? Thanks.

Hello, we are going to be applying for the 143 from a current 173. The case officer assigned but we wanted to start looking at the AOS process. I had a couple of quick questions that others might be able to help with from your experience. For Q44 ("What is your current annual taxable income?"), is this supposed to be the expected income for the current yet, or the garnered income year to date? For the confirmation of identity, the referenced form SS231 does not appear to exist any more. Has someone performed the online confirmation process. In that case, how is the verification of documents done? The website says they want original documents and not copies. Do we upload a copy initially and do they later ask us to come in person to verify the original documents.

Hello, My mother was granted the 173 visa a couple of weeks back. Looking through the human services website it looks like 173 holders are eligible for Medicare. Has anyone here applied for Medicare while still on a 173 (before applying for a 143)? On the Medicare application form it is unclear what category to select for question 2. Does anyone have any pointers? Thanks!

We are currently in Australia on a 600 visa. We had applied for a 173 visa and finally got the request for the VAC2 payment. Once we made the VAC2 payment, immigration responded with a request for additional information asking for documents to prove intent to return to home country. Is this normal for anyone currently in Australia? I would have expected that the case officer would reach out asking for travel plans instead. Have other folks received similar requests?

For the 173 visa, once payment is made for the second VAC, how long does IMMI take for processing the visa?

When applying for a 143 from a 173, the dept should issue a bridging visa. Does anyone know what type of bridging visa issued? Does it allow unrestricted entry in and out of Australia?

Do you happen to know what address to email the form to? I imagine it should be posted to the same location as for the parent visa.

In the case of the 173 visa, once a case officer is assigned how long would it be before the visa is issued? What does the timeline typically looks like?

For those of you who were already in Australia on a 600 visa when the request for additional docs was sent (police clearance, medical examination), how did you manage to get the documentation? Are you allowed to the health examinations in Australia? Can you finish all of the processes until the point of visa grant while still in Australia? I read elsewhere that the applicant would need to be outside of Australia when the visa is granted though. This is for CPV 173.
