  1. @kunal_85 congrats! Well public transport does not connect the entire length and breadth of the city and probable having a car would be more of a necessity than a luxury. Jobs are difficult to get but definitely not impossible, one just needs to hang in there.. I think August is a good time to arrive. I too am from Dubai and at present in Adelaide to do my first landing, am here for 10 days and preparing ourselves for the big move in October. For used cars you can reffer to the below link, this is from the government and what i got to know is a very reliable source of procuring cars and normally come with warranties. https://www.pickles.com.au/
  2. 5 to 8 months after submission.
  3. I have a question on state nominated 489.. in order to be eligible for a PR one has to show at least 1 year full time employment in the fist 2 years so can one: - own and run a business as a partner? - be a franchise owner? Would that be considered as full time employment? Thank you.

  5. Thanks KPG, what are your future plans @woody2709 we are doing our first landing next week and will have a look at some suburbs, schools etc.. We plan to make our final move in Q4 later this year. Job hunt is going to be challenging so a bit apprehensive about that. What are your plans like?
  6. I'm flying out in a few weeks to Darwin. Not 100% about staying in other areas/states but I'm going to stick to the NT regardless for the foreseeable future. All the best @woody2709
  7. @Sagga as far as my knowledge goes its not a mandatory requirement to work in the same field as your occupation and it wont jeopardize your future prospects of getting a PR. This is what I got to know from my agent for SA state nomination. All the best. When are you making the move? Do you also have the option of working in other low population areas or have to stick to Tasmania only?
  8. if i am not mistaken it is 5 months for 75% of the applications and go upto maximum of 8 months. It all depends on how complete your submission is and if they dont have any queries then should be straight forward. A few of my friends got it in 3 months.
  9. Yes I did.. it took little over 5 months.
  10. thank you @woody2709 yes have opened two joint accounts one with NAB and CB both based on strong recommendations. will be going in for a basic prepaid Telstra card with a data package as I think I will be using more of data than calls. Absolutely. I think i can do that only once I move permanently as wont have the time to work on it .. Dont have a UK license.
  11. @YGAR 75% of the applications are processed in 5 months and the remaining between 6 to 8 months.. At times the CO wont even contact if your file is complete and there aint any clarification questions. All the best.
  12. @rasika yes as mentioned by @Cerberus1 education wont be expensive in a public school on a 489 but yes health insurance can be expensive. It all depends on what package you choose. Bupa seems to be the best option and from what I have researched it would cost about 200 to 240 AUD a month for a family of 4. Wish you all the best. its a good move go for it.
  13. thank you @SteveandKirsty yes indeed we are going on a validation trip.
  14. Thank you @Newhope and wish you the same.. hope it all works our for you as planned.
  15. What about you @Newhope where do you stand with your application? Wish you all the best.
  16. Most welcome @Newhope I am happy I could be of help.. I applied under 511112 Project Administrator sponsored by SA but now I think this occupation has moved to low demand (red)
  17. thank you @Newhope.. regarding your question well I am not the best to comment on it as my application was done by an agent but yes my EOI and State Nomination were filed on the same day.
  18. As usual @snifter to my rescue.. Thank you once again for taking the time and replying.
  19. Hello, We finally have got our grant and have a few questions that need clarifications: We plan to do our first entry and stay there for a week and return back to ADL permanently by the end of the year and would like to know: - Do we register / apply for TFN during our first visit or once we move permanently? - What is recommended, to have one joint account for spouse and myself or better to have two separate accounts? (keeping in mind individual credit score) - What documents (hard copies)do you think we should carry with us that can be useful? - What should we cover / do in our first visit, any tips or do's and dont's ? Thank you,
