  1. Thank you both for the info. This all sounds very positive for us. I am using a MARA registered agent as recommended from Bob in Oz. I will explain our circumstances to him and take his advice on the type of visa which would suit us both. We do have car insurances and travel insurance in both our names or as named persons on the account and my partner also gives me a weekly 'living repayment' which he pays directly into my bank account so we could use this as evidence also. We did not know about the different Off/On shore visa grants so will also enquire our agent about that too so thank you for informing us about that. We just want to spend valuable time with his family under the circumstances. Thanks again Sent from my SM-N910F using PomsinOz mobile app
  2. Hi, I am new to this forum and am after some advice. My partner is an Australian citizen and we met in December 2008 when he was over visiting his mother and family for Xmas. Despite going to the airport to catch his returning flight he decided to stay here with me and we have been together ever since. I was granted a whv in 2014 but we didn't end up going because of family circumstances and finances we faced at the time. My partner's father, step mother and siblings live in NSW so we saved real hard and in Sept 16 I went over to meet them on a 3 month holiday visa with my partner. I loved Australia and got on really well with his family. My partners father has since been over for a month in June to stay with us in Wales. Unfortunately he and his wife are not in good health and have recently both had a couple of scares. After much discussion we have decided to emigrate to Australia. My partner has really missed having his dad around and with his age and health not being on his side he is going back over once we have saved enough to get him there. End of October is our aim. I obviously need a visa so I am in the process of getting all my bits together to send over to an agent which I have paid to help me through the application. I'm going to miss my partner terribly so ideally I want the application to be as smooth and quick as possible. I know it is about 9 to 12 months. My partners father has said he will sponsor me if need be. I was looking at the skilled visa but someone mentioned the partner visa to me too and now I'm all confused! I have a HABC level 5 in leadership for health and social care and children and young people's services (QCF) (Adults residential management) I have asked TAFE for the Australian equivalent for my qualification but had no reply. My partner and I live together but he has most of his things at his mother's address as he has just never changed them being the type of man he is. He works away throughout the week and it has never been something he has got round to so will this effect the partner application? Also he would already be out there whilst I would be in the UK. Sorry for all the questions! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-N910F using PomsinOz mobile app
