    Any Teachers Applying Now?

Employers references (as in council or LA) were very brief but I did include Head teachers references too. They were quite detailed Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

    Any Teachers Applying Now?

Nobody asked for form 80. I had to get Glasgow council and East Dunbartonshire council to write letters to prove I worked there. This is as well as payslips (actually stamped printouts because I shredded a lot of old payslips). They were ok about it. I also needed old P60s but I had those. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

Hi all. Delighted to have visa granted this morning after lodgement on 3rd May. Docs were requested by CO on 19th June. Medicals and PCC were uploaded on 13 July. Given the way things seem to have been going recently, I hope this quick turnaround gives some cause for optimism for you all! I'm cracking the Möet, who cares if it's a school night! Any Teachers Applying Now?

For myself I'm hoping that 15 years of experience (7 of those as faculty head) and a Catholic RE certificate might help with employment. That said, I'm hoping to go back to classroom teaching. Management ain't my bag! Too stressful and it takes me away from doing what I enjoy i.e. actually teaching kids history and politics. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

    Aphra before visa grant?

Will do. We didn't front load our docs and had to wait til we came back from a holiday to upload. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

    Aphra before visa grant?

Lodged on May 3rd, asked for medicals and PCC on 19th June and had everything uploaded by July 13th so just waiting now. We applied under my occupation (secondary teacher) with 75 points. My wife registered with an employment agency a while back and had an interview for a post last week. They've asked for references and are aware of what stage we are at in the process, so we'll see how that goes. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

Thanks for this. My wife is a radiographer and we were unsure about this too. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

    189 visa teacher and Ielts

Also, a certificate of English competence is useful for AITSL skills assessment and state registration.

    189 visa teacher and Ielts

If your OH isn't on the skills list it won't matter. You will be the primary applicant and your family will be on your application. Once a 189 is granted you can all work as you like regardless of the occupation you applied under. IELTS or similar is worth doing as it'll bump up your points score and future proof you against perils like turning 40 (as I'm about to) I'm using an agent (because I'm a lazy git) and would advise you to give a MARA registered agent a ring or email. Most of them will give you free advice. best of luck from a fellow teacher!
