  1. According to ANMAC they only state the outcome in the letter which they send by post. Before they would attach the letter to the email while you waited for the original. I was however able to call ANMAC and convince them to attach the outcome letter and email it to me, therefore i lodged my EOI early. The posted letter took a week to arrive Yes the letter will have the ref number and state if ur suitable
  2. Hi sorry for the late reply. I submitted my skills assessment around 1st Feb. Assessment took 3 months back then due to a high number of applicants. I had to apply for registration before applying for my ANMAC assessment as i had completed my nursing degree in Australia. The nursing registration took around 4 weeks.
  3. Yes i was on 10th July. After almost 2 months They requested i upload a UNI completion letter. Even though i had submitted graduation statements and transcripts
  4. Hi Guys, My 189 was granted recently but on the same day i received my new passport as the old one is expiring next month. My 189 is attached to the old passport and ive updated immigration through myimmiaccount online. Questions are; 1. does anyone know how long it will take for them to tranfer the grant to the new passport? 2. When i used the update us section online there was no mention of attaching a copy of the new passport? Is that weird? All it asked for was the passport number
  5. Time line for my nursing application EOI - 01/05/2017 INVITATION - AFTER 10 DAYS VISA LODGE - 10 MAY 2017 VISA GRANT - 21 SEP 2017
  6. AIMS accredted means that the uni is officially recognised by AIMS as a provider of the course that meets all the standards that AIMS upholds. Some Australian uni are accredited and these students dont have to sit an exam. But some are not and those have to sit an exam My suggestion would be - Find out if ur uni is accredited Secondly look at the ANZO code for med lab scientist and look at the professional responsibilities/duties a person has to carry out for him to be called a medical lab scientist. As not all roles involve lab work. So you might get lucky Submit a degree assessment as see if it comes back positive. This wil give you an idea of how many point you can claim based on the work experience theyve assessed you for.
  7. There are "RUMOURS" going around on other forums that the delays are due to an IT system change (update) that staff are not familiar with. Apparently things might get on track from the 17th of July. However, these are only rumours but looking at the numerous system outages and maintenance the DIBP has had in the last 2 months it seems plausible,
  8. I did multiple IELTS exams during my stay in Australia and during those time i never managed to get a high score. I then decided to give PTE-A a go and got superior english which added more points to my application. I would say do PTE-A because; You get ur results in 2 days so you dont have to wait for long to see if you made it to the required score. I found that PTE-A is faster in terms of duration. they use the same writting topics as in IELTS. I studied ielts material for my PTE-A as there is alot of free material online. My only other advice is make sure you know the format of the exam and how it is marked. This will reduce anxiety during the actual exam as you already know what is expected at every single stage. For retelling a lecture i used TED talks on youtube to practice.
  9. I have been following other forum and was able to gather the following: 1. Visa grants have been reduced for the month of may and june as the 189 grant ceilings for the current financial year have been reached. This data is not available on the immi website however there is a mention of visa grants being subjected to planning levels. 2. the processing time of 75% of the cases has been increased from 3mths to 4 mths due to staffing cuts. 3. Following the tracker it is evident that the brisbane team is not contacting alot of people. Only the Adelaide team is Hopefully things pick up in July
  10. I am a registered nurse in Australia so i can shed some light into the process i had to go thru. 1. You will need APHRA registration - This will depend on your circumstance, if you can prove that you are an equilavent of an Australian Registered nurse then i dont see a problem in getting the registration. 2. After you gain your registration you will need a Degree Assessment from ANMAC. they are tricky to deal with as they assess your qualifications in detail and one cannot guarantee the nature of the outcome. Their current processing time is 3 months (yes i waited 3 months) provided they dont ask for more documents. I have a friend who has been waiting since Feb for the assesment. if you want to claim points for experience you have to let ANMAC assess that so that you can include that as evidence when applying for your EOI otherwise if you can still manage 60 points without experience then i dont see the point of getting it assessed. 3. EOI Application- dont worry too much about it. 60 is all you need and will be invited in the next invitation round no matter what. This is because the RN occupation ceiling is approx 16000 for the year 2016/17, and to date not half that number has reached. This was my situation and steps i had to follow. Regarding if you will accepted as an RN is hard to tell as its all down to your education provider and if the courses meet the australian requirements.
