  1. Hey GV1991, countries are judged by DIBP as high risk or low risk for their own reasons, low risks countries are those on the list provided by Jess6 below; unfortunately Indonesia is judged as high risk... Might not be the answer you are looking for, but hope this helps!!

I'm an April 2017 applicant too....technically, they should start looking at them in the next month if they are to keep their current rate up.....BUT, and its a big but, they are so unpredictable, that honestly, with their timeframes in mind, I've put my own approval window from September 2017, to March 2018......and hoping really for an answer before christmas, as I had to submit a 'change of circumstances form' which I suspect will knock our application being opened back a while (case officer will look at the pile of applications and do the easier ones first to keep up the numbers, but that is just a personal opinion, no basis in fact). The wait is a real killer, even if you enjoy your job and hope to be in it for 20 years!

  5. Ahoy there guys & gals, Just a super quick one, and would really appreciate the help. My partner and I applied for 186 DE in April this year, and I'm actually on a 457 visa which doesn't expire until June of 2018....now my partner has to go back to Spain tomorrow for an emergency. Are we technically still on that 457 with no travel limitations? or are we on a bridging visa A the moment we submit our application? Tried calling the department and I got an unsure 'yeah...should be fine' which didn't give me too much confidence!! Again, really grateful for any reply!

  7. Hey Sue, If your 186 PR visa has been granted, then yes, you can leave your job and look for something else. For the visa application you had to have the intention of working in the position for two years, but there is nothing stopping you from leaving if circumstances change. All the best!!

  10. yeah, don't worry, I'm in the exact same position; for direct entry as long as it says outcome: positive and suitable for migration or whatever in the first part, then you're golden. The points test is for skilled independent visas which have different criteria for work experience. Depending on the qualification they will sometime take off the first two or three years as part of her training to be able to perform the job at a skilled level, or thats the general idea anyway. I had the same think happen, only 2.4 years positively assessed despite having over 8 years experience, but DIBP dont even look at the Points Test Advice part.   11. Hey JohnyP! I've recently gone through some issues with Vetassess which I actually had resolved positively today!!! I'll copy and paste from one of the emails they sent me about your question: "Please note that as of 1 January 2015, all VETASSESS applicants are provided with an integrated skills assessment outcome letter with Points Test Advice included." So, to answer your question, yes, they still include the Points Test Advice even if its not needed. They will have your visa subclass that you are applying for and its part of the duty to make sure they supply the correct assessment for that visa. Hope that helps!   13. I am completely with you, I'd love to know too. I think the peak around June may have been in part due to the UKs vote to leave, but mainly due to the majority of visa changes which have been happening annually in the past years on the 1st of July; I was told that by a previous migration agent who made me apply well before June for my 457 visa a few years back. Obviously that didn't apply to the last major announcement but minor changes and fee increases used to happen on July 1 or around that date....not sure if there is any facts to back that up, but just passing on what I was told.
  14. Hey @richardNdO mate, I'm currently going through a bit of hassle with Vetasses at the moment, and have unfortunately had to learn quite a lot about their criteria. I'm a 'Group B profession' and have what I would consider a highly relevant degree, but not according to them. Anyway, for Group A, see the below criteria directly form their website: "Group A Skills Assessment Criteria: Qualification/s assessed at Australian Bachelor degree or higher degree with a highly relevant field of study and at least one year of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years." Looks like you need to have a highly relevant degree regardless of amount of experience...I know, its incredible that someone with a degree and one years experience is deemed skilled and someone with 20 years experience is not...I've got a similar dilemma By the way, I'm in no way qualified in this field, and if someone else has had other experience then please post as this is just my experience and opinion Wish you all the very best with everything though, and leave us know how you get on. Ah ok, you will need to apply to the university for the MBA and Degree for her transcripts and/or diploma supplements, these will have all the information like what years of study, what medium, full time or part time, modules etc etc. She would have got them as part of her certificates but are easily lost. Also in the UK, they only give diploma supplements with your degree, you have to apply for transcripts for each year of study. I had to apply for mine from Plymouth in the UK, which surprisingly didn't take too long. Did they say they need to be certified copies of the originals? As I asked the university to scan and email me mine for skills assessment, as they only needed colour scans.   17. Hey samzz111, I would think that education transcripts and/or diploma supplements are what the case officer are after; what education documents did you submit with the application? Maybe someone else with more knowledge could give a better answer...
  18. Feeling awfully lonely in being the only applicant on the spreadsheet for April 2017...and STILL the most recent....does everyone think this is a reflection on the amount of applications going in? Or just a decline in the use of the spreadsheet?!
  19. Hey @Sue2017 thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've filled out the 'error or incorrect information' through the 'update us' tab. But now I've got another worry; I've filled out the form and submitted it to Vetassess to have my skills assessment 'corrected' or updated...not sure how to phrase it.....but now very worried that the case officer will look at our application and see that I uploaded the corrected skills assessment at a later date than our application...one moment I am thinking they will understand, and it will be fine, then the next I am thinking I may as well withdraw it as there's no way they will grant our visa as one of the main criteria has been 'disobeyed' despite genuinely not knowing...would appreciate any impartial thoughts!

Hey mate, I did a skills assessment as an industrial designer, which doesn't have a technical interview, but I do know a few people who have had one and they said if you can do the job, then its really nothing to you. I'm sure you'll smash it out of the park mate, try not to stress too much. All the best though man, let us know how you get on
  21. Big Congrats Dipen! very jealous! I've encountered a major problem in my own application stemming from a typo in an employers reference. Hoping a DE applicants who used VetAsses might be able to help; do you know if they count employment that lasted for under 6 months in a skills assessment application? My employer mistook the dates of my employment as 2014-2015 instead of 2015-2016, and VetAssess gave me an assessment of over two years from 2014-2016...despite only having the documentation for only one year. This has left me in a sticky situation where I am now going back to VetAsses to have my skills assessment redone with corrected statement, but now need the 3 months of an old job in order to satisfy the experience requirements... Also, one of the requirements of the 186 DE is to hold a positive outcome skills assessment at time of application....I applied with the incorrect skills assessment letter unknowingly and will have to attach the corrected one if it comes back positive....do you think Immigration will deem it an invalid application due to the second corrected outcome letter being uploaded well after the application submitted? any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!! havent slept too well since picking up the mistake...
  22. Hey @Nick UK, really interested to see if you applied for the SRG35 and whether that worked for your 186 visa application?? My case is a little different; an employer mistook my experience dates on my statement of service, and has lead to a positive outcome but with wrong dates. So I'm looking to basically have my skills assessment redone with the corrected dates, according to my case officer I should fill out the SRG35 application filled out along with a letter explaining the circumstances...which i have done as I need the result ASAP due to my 186 application being lodged, but also noticed the small print saying not suitable for Employer Nominated Scheme.....am I trusting the case officer too much? did your application result in an updated skills assessment suitable for a 186 application? Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, So...having spoken to a case manager at VetAssess, they have told me to fill out the SRG35 form, "Application for VETASSESS Advisory Letter for Points Test purposes" as a means of updating my outcome letter with the correct experience. I'm just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience? And also, will this give me a whole new Skills assessment like my original which can be used as an updated version for a 186 application, or will the outcome letter just have points test ONLY and not the "Skills Assessment outcome: Positive"?? I'm starting to doubt what the case officer has told me to do as on the small text of the SRG35 form under the 'do not use this form if:' sections it states '• you are applying to migrate under the Employer Nomination Scheme'....needless to say its really got me worried... ...potentially another $400 dollars down the drain... @Richard Gregan do you have any experience in this???? any response would be much appreciated! I will also update with any outcome for future reference, although I hope nobody else has to go through this due a mistake on an employers reference!!
  24. Hey Richard, thanks so much for the reply...the plot thickens... So, I got a response stating that they took the dates from my employer Statement of Service which they have mistakenly written one year earlier....2014-2015 instead of 2015 - 2016....but then taken the end date from my payslips....all other documentation, including the application had the right dates...but it looks like they just picked that date from the statement of service and given me a year extra than I actually did....just goes to show that I could've asked my employer to write any dates on the statement of service and they would not have been checked.... Awaiting a response, and I'm split about what they'll say; either it was my mistake, and I will have to pay the whole application again or a review....OR, they actually didnt really do their job at all, didnt check any of my employment, and will amend it...
  25. Hey guys, I'm pretty worried; I had my skills assessed as an Industrial Designer with VetAsses, and had a positive result, so went ahead and applied for my 186 DE visa. The application has been in with a month, and I was just looking over my VetAsses letter for another random reason and noticed that the dates on the positive skills assessment are wrong. I've looked at my application and all employment documents i supplied and all point to the correct dates, yet for some reason they've invented dates on the letter. Either they made a mistake in typing up the letter, or botched the whole application. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone, and what the outcome was, as really looking to sort this ASAP. What's the likelihood VetAsses will just admit the mistake and reissue a correct letter? Any reply would be massively appreciated
