    We have been given 4 weeks notice, but booked flight 7 months ago, still trying to get a flight before 1st entry date, but not holding my breath for this to happen. Have applied for an extension for visa and hoping we get.

    My 1st class flight in 4 weeks time has been cancelled and my husband and I cannot get a flight in any class to any Australian airport before 30 dec 21 with any airline from the uk

    Well I hope you are lucky, just had my flights cancelled and cannot get a flight until December 21 - trying to get an extension to my visa, panicking

    Thankfully I received my visa November 20 and due to fly to Australia in September, I always thought this forum was to get information on visa applications/ do and don’t etc. It now seems it is all about COVID, and yes I know it has affected the number of visas, it is not what this forum should be about. Yes, we all have an opinion on the various governments, but again not the purpose of this forum. If the moderators of this forum think I am out of order with MY opinion of what I thought this forum was about, please remove me from it.

    Thanks @BargeUK and yes we both are fully vaccinated, property seems to be selling extremely well and quickly in our area. We are waiting for a copy of a completion certificate (one we cannot find in the mounds of paperwork), but the council is horrendously slow are getting a copy, due to they have to get the file out of archives, once we have this house can go up for sale.

    @BargeUK we have booked 1st class flights for end September, unlikely we could go sooner, house to sell etc - will also have to see how this would affect our visa entry date, will need to get some legal advise on where we stand. Thanks

    @Lady Jane once you booked flights, did you have any additional paperwork to complete. My husband and I are planning travelling at the end of Sept, we got visa granted November 2020. Any information would be great.

    I find it bizarre - for months we complain about the government not issuing visas and how they are reducing the number of visas, how many years we have to wait etc etc . We now get these long awaited Visas and clearly that is no longer the objective, but now it’s unfair that we have to leave the country to activate said Visa , do quarantine etc etc - surely the fact we now have a Visa, we have done nearly 5 years in limbo waiting for the Visa - we should be celebrating, we can now officially be allowed to be with our children, not that we have to follow the rules and leave the country, do quarantine and complain about the cost - some people will never be happy

    @Flangela100 paid through Normal bank account BPay, the invoice has barcode and reference etc - so worked ok

    @KathyN I think this forum was originally for UK parents, hence there are probably a lot of UK citizens on here - I would imagine however Visas being granted will be for all applicants, regardless of the country they are from.

    @Flangela100 - my 2nd Vac was paid a few hours ago on BPay so definitely not shut just now

    Today we received a request for payment of 2nd VAC - a roller coaster of emotions - lots of happy tears - it’s been a long four and a half years - when we applied it said 12-18 months - we are just thrilled

    Agree congratulations Yorkie - surprised they are not doing in date order also - especially as i have had no negative feedback or additional requests for information on documents submitted
