Hey all, obviously there has been a lot of media coverage about bushfires recently, and rightly so with the devastation they have caused to people and wildlife. My questions is: how badly have they impacted Adelaide and the areas around Adelaide? I know the worst of it has been predominantly around NSW, but my wife is a little concerned (as am I). what is bushfire season like each year in SA? TIA

This is a really good idea. We don’t have our visas yet, but will probably look to do something like this before we move in a couple of years.

Hi all, this is my first post, so please bear with me. I am currently doing a part time degree at university, while also working full time as an engineering manager. We will hopefully be emigrating on my wife's qualifications/job as it means that we can go through the whole process without having to wait for me to qualify, even if it does mean we will miss out on the points that I might be able to bring. With Mechanical Engineer on the flagged list for the SOL, and the downturn in the mining industry in WA, I was just wondering what opportunities are like in the Brisbane/Gold coast kind of region. I will qualify about 6 months before we plan to emigrate although by that stage I will have 3 years working at an EngTech level and 4 years at IEng level. I fully expect to have to go in at either Graduate or Junior level, but just concerned that there seems to be a fair few engineers out there and not all that many jobs to share around. I have been on the various job sites, but they don't tell you how many people are applying for each post, or how difficult it is to get a job. Any info/advice would be welcome
