  1. Thank you very much for your reply. Just to make sure. I lodge my EOI - changes are allowed until i get invited I get invited and have 60 days to aplly - NO changes allowed until I apply for the visa I apply for the visa - changes are allowed Since there is no way of knowing the exact timeline of the application there is a possibility that the wedding happens during the "no change period" between Invitation and Application. In that case I should apply with my old status and then change the status once I apply? Thanky you once again. Kind regards
  2. Bumping my question. If there are no advices can someone atleast point me in the right direction? Thank you once again.
  3. Hi all, I'm planing to apply for the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and I'm planing to include my partner in my application. I'm in a de facto relationship for 8 years (I can provide evidence if necessary) and I'm engaged to be married (wedding date is set for the June 9th 2018.) The change from de facto to married won't have any effect on the points awarded for the visa application. I'm planing to lodge my EOI by the end of the year. What would be the wisest course of action regarding the change of our relationship status and the change of my future wives last name that will happen with the wedding? I know I can change my EOI before I am invited to apply. After I'm invited I have 60 days to apply and during that period no changes are allowed. Are changes allowed after the aplication for the visa has been lodged? Please feel free to ask if I left anything out. Thank you very much. Kind regards, Dario
  4. Hello DJUKI,

I would like to know if you were able to get any information from SSSI about needing work experience for a positive assessment.

  5. My original plan is to apply for the 189 visa. My occupation is on the skill list but unfortnately i dont 't have any relevant experience (i checked with the assessing authority and relevant experience it is not a requirement). This means i have to prove SUPERIOR ENGLISH in order to gather enough points. I'm curently looking for alternatives if proving superior english turns out to be a problem.
  6. The part that confuses me is the "relative's partner you want to sponsor must be your...". Doesn't that mean that the relative's partner has to be one of the following from the list?
  7. Hi, I have a question regarding the sponsorship rules of the 489 visa. My partners sister has a permanent resident visa. My parner and I are planing to apply for the 489 visa with me as main applicant. Can my partners sister be my sponsor? Based on the quote below from the border.gov.au I think that she can't. Am I right? "The relative or the relative's partner you want to sponsor must be your: child or stepchild parent or step-parent brother, sister, adoptive brother, adoptive sister, stepbrother, step sister, niece, nephew, adoptive niece, adoptive nephew, step niece, step nephew, aunt, uncle, adoptive aunt, adoptive uncle grandparent or first cousin." Thank you very much. Kind regards
  8. Thank you for your reply. You are right about the VETASSESS. I found an Eligibility list on their web site stating "You have at least one year of employment experience obtained in the last five years which is highly relevant to your nominated occupation". Could you please clarify what you meant by "several options for each of the groups (Group A/B/C/etc) of occupations". As for the SSSI, I was unable to find any explicit requirements for the relevant experience. I'll try and send an email to the SSSI and see if I can get an answer. Thank you once again.
  9. Hi, My name is Dario and I'm from Croatia. I'm planing to migrate to Australia on a 189 visa. I have finished secondary school for land surveying (Geodetic technical school) in Croatia and I have finished five year Faculty of geodesy at the University of Zagreb in Croatia earning a mag. ing et geoinf. title with a major in a field of Cartography and photogrammetry. On the SOL there are three occupations that i qualify for; surveyor, cartographer and spatial scientist. They are assessed by SSSI and VETASSESS. My concern is the fact that I have no official experience in the selected occupations. My age, "years of experience', education degree and IELTS score of 8 lands me at 60 points necessary for the 189 visa. What are the chances of getting a positive assessment in my situation? If you need any additional info please feel free to ask. Thank you very much. Best regards, Dario
