  1. @slacey84 yes I definitely think so. My 457 was due to expire on May 29th and would have needed to apply for the other bridging visa. I just wrote that exact statement in the email, and received automated response. I wasn't expecting anything to come from it after that and the action the following day surprised me. Also given the fact that the information requested was very minor, and not relevant to the application. So it required very little action in regards to background checks. I think that was probably the biggest factor.
  2. @Botany Congrats on the very quick movement of your case! I think it's likely your nomination has been approved BUT we have encountered a few cases on this forum recently whereby requests were made on the application, and nomination was still pending. Worth trying to track down someone in your MA agency for a definitive answer. Good luck
  3. Finalised!!! Happy Thursday! Sent an email last night to nsw.pse (the account we received the s56 request from) advising of travel plans for June and asked that if possible our case could be looked at before then. Absolutely no idea if that was the cause for the Grant this morning, but I definitely won't lose sleep over it Hang in there guys, and if you've uploaded the requested information why not drop them a reply. It can't hurt. Peace!
  4. Great to see another Chippy Check out details in my signature where a request for licencing has slowed us down. CO requested proof of licencing/registration which is not required in WA. And now we're back in the pile Hopefully yours isn't far off!
  5. Nomination just approved! So thankful to my MA for putting up with my constant questions. Only wish now that I hadn't been so slow to submit my application. We do medicals tomorrow, so hopefully have it finalised in the next month. PS - signature updated before anyone asks about the "famous email"
  6. @MandyParker As far as I am aware, you do not need a qualification (only positive skills assessment, amongst other requirements) for the 190 State Sponsorship. This is a PR visa. But I am unsure what States (if any) have Analyst Programmer on the list. Check into it yourself, but I would suggest speaking to an MA about any/all of the options available to you. You don't want to give up on your Australian dream without having exhausted all pathways.
  7. @GAL I'm not sure what post you are referring to, but can offer some guidance that I have read on other posts. An update to your 'last updated' date could be due to MA/yourself uploading new documents; or BUPA uploading medical results. Both could happen and not affect status. I suggest posting into this thread if you have questions regarding a 186 visa https://www.pomsinoz.com/topic/193485-skillselect-ens-186-timeline/?page=2056
  8. @pr where are you ... Yes there is still a chance, as the nomination and application check for different things. For example your company may tick all the boxes, hence a nomination approval; but incorrect information or health/character issues on your side could lead to application refusal. However if your police checks and medicals are all in check, you should be on your way to an approval
  9. @beesal No. The nomination is a completely separate application and is directly between your Company and Immigration.
  10. @syc15 As an Irish resident I was not required to obtain private health cover, due to the reciprocal agreement in place between the two countries. I've read other posters have advised to keep your health insurance, as it is a requirement of your current 457 visa.
  11. Welcome @syc15 Yes, you can go into the Medicare office now that your application is lodged. Bring with you your passport, and IMMI letter of acknowledgement of PR lodgement. I have done this, while still on my 457, and received temporary Medicare card before I left the centre. They post you out an actual card in a few days.
  12. @Khairul I was in the same situation last year. MA requested 2018 financials to update application about August last year. They were not ready from the accountant at that stage. My MA was happy to upload the company Profit&Loss report until finalised version was prepared. This was a simple form printed from our software system, Quickbooks. Company received finalised financials in October and MA updated application. I think if your company can provide some documents to show how the year 2017/2018 ended on their books you will be ok. Perhaps company accountant could write a note advising the financials are not finalised yet and perhaps give estimated turnover figure. I would be open with your MA re company's stance on 2018 financials and they will advise the next best option.
  13. @sachin1983 My MA has said that it is a new process adopted by Dept in order to have applications up to date when they are opened by CO. It's an attempt to avoid any further delays.
  14. I'm now in the same boat too got email from NSW PSE this morning said our application will be handed to a decision maker soon, and advised us to complete police checks (already uploaded), and medicals. Still no word from MA on nomination. Hope it runs smoothly from here.
  15. Excuse the long post.. It would be awesome if we could return to using this forum to help each other instead of vent frustration with a system outside our control. It should be used to update timelines, share CO requests for info, and help newbies who are beginning the process. We need to offer advice when asked to those lodging without an MA's help, and to those wanting to confirm what their MA has said. The recent streams of messages of frustration with the system, complaints of processing delays, and the belief that the process is totally unfair, are helping nobody here. I'm sure those messages cannot even give comfort to the poster, only build more anger within. Don't get me wrong, I empathise with all of you. I myself am still in queue. I submitted an EOI for a 189 visa almost 2 years ago and have still not been invited to apply. This 186 TRT is plan B. We need to remember all of the things in life that really are 'unfair'. Turn on 9news in the evening and see what real life 'unfair' looks like. See migrants escaping war for a fresh start be held in asylum centres for years, that's if they make the harsh sea crossing alive. See families torn apart by crisis'; sickness, workplace accidents, car crashes. All of this happens daily. Apologies for the long read, but I urge you all to leave the visa process, as 'unfair' as you think it is, to the people in charge. Acknowledge that the processing times are a guide only, and that there are 10% of cases that lie outside those times. In years to come, a successful PR holder or not, you will look back at this time and regret being so worked up about something so out if your control. Put your energy into your daily life now, not visa blogs or chat. Peace ✌
  16. This was the advice my MA received at a course recently when she asked about the training levy - "All 457 Standard Business Sponsors submitted 186 nominations, the training requirement (benchmark A or B ) has to be met until time of decision on the 186 nomination application regardless of if the business is no longer a sponsor" She asked that the company send records monthly to upload to application. The company meets benchmark B through apprentice wages.
  17. @Louisa I have applied via TRT and yes, need to continue to meet training benchmarks. Our company sends updated training documents to MA monthly.
  18. @CrispyDuck it's hard to believe that as a "long-time reader" you have not read the answer to your question. This forum has been predicting am average of 30-40 day turn around on a decision after submitting requested docs. Some pages back you will have read about people getting grants within 1 day of submitting extra docs, and others waiting on further assessment for 10+ months. It seems to be a lottery. But be thankful your file has been looked at, hopefully you won't have a long wait
  19. @Lauren186 I asked my MA that same question this morning!! Our 457 expires mid May. She advised that renewing your 457 (482 visa) would be a pricey and potentially unnecessary option. She said she has uploaded a letter to the CO (yet to be assigned) saying that if the nomination is to be declined, then the preference of the applicant would be to withdraw. If we were given this option, and our 457 had expired, we would have 35 days on our BVA to arrange alternative visas / leave the country. She does not feel it will come to this. Personally I'm not sure how the letter would work, but it's worth a shot.
  20. @Hisham Khan This is only my suggestion, as our company usually needs to supply evidence to show that Formwork Carpenters are related to the sponsored Carpenter occupation. We have supplied this up front as per MA's request, and never needed anything further. (Speaking from employer point of view, as they have lodged many other successful nominations - mine is still 'received') A letter from the employer listing your duties as a field scoper, finding likeness where possible to the duties of an Electrical engineer. I'm not sure of either occupation/role, but it could be worded to say that your job entails the duties of both occupations and that a field scoper is a specialist role within Electrical engineering. A role that the company requires you to fulfill. This request from CO is to help them understand the roles and responsibilities of the occupation. They could be just like me, and be completely clueless to those jobs. As always though, the best advice will come from an MA who has dealt with similar requests before.
  21. @tayfunI gave my experience of the accountant letter to a member on page 1918. I've copied it here: The accountant letter submitted (and approved by MA) for our nomination mentioned the following: - Full trading name and abn of business - Stated how long the accountant worked for/with the business (if it is 3rd party accountant) - business' current trading stability and future prosperity (in our case, the construction sector, mentioned ongoing and upcoming projects and their approx. dollar value) - mentioned the sponsored employee and confirmed the business will remain profitable for employment of the sponsored person for at least 2 years It was less than a page by time they add in all of the usual letter formalities. This is what we used, and our MA approved.
  22. Hi! Question re: training benchmark B for nomination (TRT) We lodged nomination in May, and supplied evidence of training that well exceeded 1% of payroll (via an apprentice), From 2014 - March 2018. The MA says that the training benchmark was scrapped in August and so I must meet training benchmark B from March - August 2018. The company did not have an apprentice during that period (it has one again now but that's seemingly irrelevant), and I am wondering how significant will that small period will be in my nomination? The company could supply invoices for training courses (but they're subsidised and would not meet the 1%; and only minor courses so maybe not count as evidence anyway) Looking for thoughts.. Also - did the org charts you provided name all employees, or just the nominated employee?
  23. Hi @Marina91 The accountant letter submitted (and approved by MA) for our nomination mentioned the following: - Full trading name and abn of business - Stated how long the accountant worked for/with the business (if it is 3rd party accountant) - business current trading stability and future prosperity (in our case, the construction sector, mentioned ongoing and upcoming projects and their approx. dollar value) - mentioned the sponsored employee and confirmed the business will remain profitable for employment of the sponsored person for at least 2 years It was less than a page by time they add in all of the usual letter formalities.
