  1. Thanks, Andy. That was very helpful. Kind regards, Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi there, I am bit confused whether I am able to transfer my pension to Australian super or if I have to leave it in the U.K. I am a 35 year old teacher and have made 11 years contributions to the Teachers' Pension Scheme. I am moving to NSW and have read that the usual Super Fund for teachers in NSW is First State Super. Is it possible to transfer the money I have accrued in the U.K. to Australia or do I have to wait until I am older? I am a bit confused by the whole situation, although it's not putting me off moving. Many thanks, Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Sayaka, I got a positive skills assessment from AITSL without IELTS as I had done my PGCE and Bachelors in the UK. I did, however, have to do IELTS for my visa application as I was short by 5 points. Hope this helps, Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. We're heading to Sydney too. I tried to keep positive but it was hard at times. Especially this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks, Joe. We'd already been for our medicals on 20/3 but I had to go back for more tests as my blood pressure was high. I would imagine you will hear soon. Mine were all uploaded on 10/04. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. We had ours granted today. Lodged on 09/03 with CO contact for medicals on 23/03. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Luckily I did and we had the visa grant yesterday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Maria, I did my IELTS in February and would recommend doing the online practice tests as these can help you to see what they are looking for in the exams. With the listening try and take notes as it is being played as they only play each extract once and look at the marking criteria for the writing and speaking exams as this tells you what they are expecting for each band. Good luck, Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi. Hoping to go to Sydney. Everything came back with Skilled Employment Statement and now applied for visa. Just waiting for medicals and police checks and a quick turn around. Hoping to be able to resign before 31 May to leave in the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I did the same but got a bit confused so had them signed by my head teacher as well. Oops. Just need to send them again and they won't charge. Good luck with the visa application. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It was a yes. Never shook so much as when I was opening the envelope. Now I just need to send them statements of employment and book my English assessment. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I should maybe add that my original letter from university stated the number of days I was on school placement rather than calling it supervised teaching practice. The letter I posted yesterday was the same letter but calling the placements supervised teaching practices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with the AITSL as I have had. Last Tuesday morning I had an email requesting further evidence of my supervised teaching practices to be sent to Australia. I contacted my university again, got another letter, got it signed off by my current head and posted it yesterday. The original email from AITSL said I had until 11 June 2017 to submit the evidence. This morning I woke up to an email from AITSL saying that my skills assessment was complete and that the outcome was being posted. Considering there is no way what I posted yesterday could have got to Canberra, I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this experience or could perhaps shed some light on a rather strange situation. Cheers, Jamie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 16 weeks is pretty heavy. It's almost like life is on hold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Benj. It's the wait that's making it seem very nerve wracking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
