Hi .. here are my updated timeline. Applied: 12/09/2016 (paper application) blacktown council Email test date: 19/10/2016 for test date 16 Feb 17 called DIBP: 24/10/2016 and changed the test to 1 December 16 Passed the test: 1 December 16 2 December 16: received a call from DIBP to submit additional form to enable them to approve my citizenship 2 December 16: went to Parramatta DIBP to hand the additional form and the officer also said that my application is approved now waiting for Approval Letter and Ceremony letter now

My updated timeline Applied: 13 September 216 (paper application) council: Blacktown (Sydney) payment charged : 19 October 2016 Email test: 19 October 2016 Original test date: 16 Feb 17 (but lucky managed to get an earlier spot on 01 December 2016) Test date: 01 December 2016 approval: ?? ceremony: ???

Thanks.. I did yesterday and still the same answer, they received lots of applications for Sydney and you just need to wait until its processed ...

Hi Blissli42, do you mind telling me when your credit card or payment was made in between? I also applied paper application since 13 September and haven't heard anything, even my payment has not been made.. I am in Sydney.. everytime I called them, they said it could be between 60-80 days just to process? Thanks

Thanks Catalyst2012, I kinda a bit in the rush now, when I applied my citizenship, I submitted my name change documentation as well via deed polls and this deed polls document is for the whole family (little bit complicated). the whole family were born in different names. I borrowed this document (original deed polls document) from my mom as its only 1 for the whole family. She is in overseas and she needs this document as well if she needs to renew her passport or ID card (which im not sure when). I know that I needed this document up till the citizenship test as I need to show the original documents to the case officer. That's why .. hopefully my mom does not require the document soon .. and Im hoping my citizenship test date is not far away .. but I doubt it now. The longer I received the email, the more longer my citizenship test date will be..

Has anyone applied from Sydney recently?? I don't know what is the delay, but since 12 September 2016, I have heard nothing from them.. I called them few times and the last one the guy was so rude and he recorded my details and told me that if you call again next time, they know how many time you have been calling immigration? he insisted that they don't know what's the delay and advised this could take up to 80 days.. im just worried if I get the email citizenship test later .. my test date will be really really delay like mid next year... so please advise any timeline if anyone from Sydney has recently just applied? No.. im in Sydney.. I called immigration last Friday and they took down my details.. they said that they have the records me calling on that day.. but since my payment has not been deducted, I wasn't recorded in their system yet !! .. I guessed they did this on purpose so when we call again, they have the records how many we have called them.. they insisted that the application can be processed within 80 days !! which is way too long !!!

mee too.. im almost giving up now.. just wait then.. I applied since 12 September (paper) and my payment has not even been deducted .. I might be sitting for citizenship test by next year !!

Thanks Leah28.. we are pretty much on the same boat .. I posted my application and received (as per the express post tracking) 12 sept .. nothing ever received and my cc also has not been charged.. I called them and sorry to give you the bad news .. the lady from immigration told me that if you applied online .. once you submitted the information is recorded in their system straight away, while if you posted .. someone from their office needs to manually record the application form to their system and once they are doing that they will charge your credit card ... ( .. since then my credit card has not been charged .. silly me too .. I really regretted posted my application while if you applied online, they responded within 10 working days (mostly) ... good news is ... you are still not be able to check your application even if you applied online.. not for citizenship (the lady said). which suburb or council do you live?? heard from someone that he applied posted and waited for 2 weeks, then she applied online.. and received the citizenship test email date within a week and past the test within 2 months... and then he received the call from immigration wondering why they have their paper application while he already passed the test (yes it took them 2 months just to register our paper application form into their system) .. maybe we should re apply online now

Hi Leah28, do you mind provide me with your timeline? I also applied paper and haven't heard anything since, even the payment (credit card) has not been charged either and when I called them, they said up till my credit card is deducted, the application is yet to be registered in the system... its really slow and frustrating .. feels like I wanna to re apply online again.
