  1. Hi kkumar.. Yes 10th class passing certificate should work as proof of birth for Indians. It should have your name and atleast one of your parent's name.
  2. Okay... thats unfortunate. i have my ceremony in Brisbane today and was planning to apply for passport straightaway as I have overseas travel plans coming up. Didnt anticipate there will be a wait for citizenship certificate as well
  3. Congratulations Red Rose. Are you able to apply for a passport using the ceremonial certificate they provided you?
  4. Hi Sheravanan, It depends on the council. Some councils provide letter by post only, some provide by email or some provide both. For e.g. Brisbane City Council (where I applied) send letter only by post. The IMMI account status will NOT change after ceremony letter is dispatched. Hope that helps!
  5. When I asked my case officer, he said they usually run police checks before status changes to "Approved". Its straightforward in some cases, but sometimes it does take more time .So, it is normal to not hear from them. Unfortunately, you'll not get any updates until its approved, so it can get a bit frustrating if the wait is too long.
  6. Hi Brisbane folks, Has anyone received ceremony invitation for 29th April ceremony by Brisbane City Council yet? They send invitation by mail only and I am wondering if I'll be part of it. Ideally, I should have received by now if I am in the list but I have seen some comments earlier that they usually send invitations upto 2 weeks before ceremony. Tried contacting council directly and DOHA but nobody is ready to give any info
  7. Yes... every email that comes in your IMMI inbox comes to your correspondence email as well. So, I received request for info via email. But once you submit the info, there is no acknowledgement that the info has been received and department doesn't answer any specific case related questions. Its just a waiting game unfortunately after submitting additional info
  8. Hi All, Update from my side: Date Applied: 09/03/2018 City/Council Area: Brisbane City Online/Paper: Online Date received the acknowledgement email: 09/03/2018 IMMI Request for more info - 18/02/2019 (Asked for birth proof as my birth certificate doesnt have name, provided an option to submit high school certificate for Indian Nationals - It must have your name, DOB and name of at least one parent)- Submitted high school certificate the same day Date of Citizenship appointment letter - 11/03/2019 (For test on 09/04/2019) - I changed it to 13/03/3019 Date of Citizenship Test: 13/03/2019 Date of Approval: 13/03/2019 Date of Ceremony: Pending After I completed my test, the officer told me that he ran a police check and its cleared so he should be able to approve today itself. It was approved 15 mins later. He said I will receive a letter of confirmation by mail and Brisbane City Council with send ceremony invitation by mail. So, if my address changes until then, I should inform the department. Brisbane City Council typically shares ceremony dates and number of vacancies closer to the ceremony date and then IMMI sends them list of people who are in the queue. That's how they decide ceremony dates. Hope that helps.
  9. My timeline: Applied online - 9th Mar 2018 Brisbane City Council
  10. Hi Guys - I just received request for more information. They've requested birth certificate which I dont have, so they have given me an option to submit high school certificates that contains my name, DOB and at least one parent's name. I have submitted the required doc today itself on my immi account. Does any one know how long they will take to process this info and provide me a test date?
  11. Just checked spreadsheet, it's 07 SEP Nom and visa both.. means they have started looking at Sept as well.
  12. @tuckersgirl @Sim goraya @Sim160990... Wondering why you have been asked for Police clearance again? I dont think its been a year since you would have received your previous police clearance certificate. Is it because you changed address or states since last police clearance?
