We applied for a tourist visa too India and got it within a week.It was valid for 6 months.However the visa will be effective since the day of stamping in your Aus passport hence I recommend to get the visa 2 weeks before you fly.

I recently changed home and called DIBP to inform about my new address. In the process asked the lady about ceremony date.she was kind enough to tell it over phone. Try your luck.

I took test on 30th May and got approval letter on 7th June. Brisbane City Council. Ceremony scheduled for 16th Oct

The status changes only after you attend the ceremony.

Applied on 6th March and got test date for 30 May in Brisbane.

Call the citizenship helpline and they shld tell your ceremony date if allocated.I got mine the same way.Expecting mail confirmation soon.

I am on the 6th of Feb as well from Brisbane. Did they tell the venue of the cermony?

Am waiting for ceremony but online status didnt change.

Hi friends , replying to my earlier post brisbane city council Applied for citizenship -03 Sep 2016 citizenship test-03 Nov 2016 approval letter- 08 Nov 2016 Called DIBP 2 Dec 2016 and they said I have been booked for the date 6 Feb 2017 for the ceremony.

Yes they will be approved after you take test.
