Hey guys,
Just had an email from MA! My nomination was approved today! They have requested more information regarding my partners police check and also a signed declaration to say we haven't paid employer for 186. I'll update the spreadsheet when i get back to my computer but just wanted to share the good news!
So bloody happy right now x
Great, mate
Only single step away from pr grant
-
technically, yes, but none of who didnt reach this requirement in any troubles, not that i heard
the reasons of changing job r various and complicated, doesnt seem fair to force a pr to do a job against their will
i wont consider it as a problem though.
-
better reach 24months fulltime job for one employer, switch company with different abn could cost many troubles, the worst could be having to start over with new job.
after pr approval, then u r free to do what ever you want ,even stay unemployment, hence having a job in another field wont be a problem.
just my understanding, better come to a professional for some solid advises

Hopefully, all is well.
Korea is LR i guess, Korean passport holder could apply an ETA, which means korea is trusted by au authorities.

but i cant believe they r still working on apps from last financial year while 7months of current financial year has passed.
hope they speed up as soon as new recruitment fills the lack of employment

Hi Manson,
Are you currently in Australia? I came over Australia from the UK on a 457 in 2013. In 2013 was certainly quicker to get over on the 457 than on a 186 however the visa has its downsides e.g. you are dependent on your employer, you don't get medicare unless your country has a reciprocal agreement (the UK does), you don't get state benefits (e.g. child care rebates / free schooling) and it can be harder to get loans/finance as a temporary resident. Depending on your circumstances the downsides of a 457 may not be an issue. If I had my time again I'd have waited and come over on a 186. It takes a little longer but you are in a much better position once you are approved and become a permanent resident.
Fingers crossed we are all getting near the end of our waits! I'm conscious others have been waiting longer but I hoping this doesn't take longer than 8 months.
Richo
not in au yet, Richo, im aware that both 186 and 457 have their downs and ups, based on what u mentioned here, some of which r new to me thanks btw, 186 seems to be a better choice, hope the waiting could end earlier to us, fingers crossed
-
thank you april for sharing
seems the process has been backward to march and april from june and july
they just want to stick with their plan of processing cases between feb and june, cant complaint about it.
-
Hi Manson,
As a fellow June DE applicant when do you think your residency application will be processed?
Obviously there are no new updates from the Dept and we have no other option but to accept and embrace the wait (I'm not looking to restart a conversation on this) but base purely on a hunch/gut-feel my wife thinks mine will be approved on Valentine's day (which I suspect is a reminder that valentines day is coming) and I don't know why but I think it will be on Feb 22nd.
What about you?
Hi Richo
i believe your suspect is quite reasonable , LOL
my wife has same vision too, she said pr will be approved before it hits eight months which is fair enough prediction.
on the other hand i have been thinking 457 for a while, you know in case either 186 fail or take much longer, it might not bad idea to turn another way, most important thing for my family is to start life in au . more waiting would hold back our plans, and sometimes plans are no longer plans if the perfect timing pass. for now starting to think about a plan B would helps with anxiety of waiting and gives some sort of hope about life itself.
anyway, we are far away from the worst situation. try to be positive here with family.
cheers, mate

same here. just waiting desperately and restlessly

Does anybody know what the last automated message said on what month they are currently working on for 186 and 187?
Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
feb to jun, literally what they said through autoreply email

I send an email to NSW PSE last week cos I cannot find my wife's HAP ID for health check ( only me and my son's HAP ID can be found via immi account online). Today a decision support officer write me back with my wife's HAP ID, does this mean my case is allciated to a CO already? But the app status is still RECIEVED, and the nomination is the same. Hope some one can give me an answer. Thank you!
unlikely
hap is generated while app submitted, the officer sent you email could be your co or not, not guaranteed.
whats your timeline BTW?
-
Yes, which I regret doing
why? u still got co allocated short than average timeframe, after submitted requested docs, the visa will coming soon.
just be patient a little longer, mate.
-
I submitted all documents as required earlier this month. I hope I can hear good news soon!
(Nom approved in July 2016)
so u applied for visa after nom approval, around july or august ?

If you take a look at this May spreadsheet example: ICT does not seem to be on hold for DE - this one has been approved in 6 months. And it is a ICT Account Manager position. But as you said, MA feedback is not official.

this is data from two months ago, they might hold onto de recently, maybe from the first jan this year, for instance
anyway, we need a latest approval for de to support the theory.

With the DE APPLICATIONS It's right THEY placed a hold and doing a lot of checks like visiting the site and asking more documents. Even my MA confirmed it but can't say officially. He says most of DE APPS on hold belonging to Manager roles, ICT, technicians, hairstylists as they are using this point to get PR instead of going throughEOI& GSM 189/190 points based PROCESSING, earlier it took 4 months to process both DEand TRANSITION VISAS but with more DE APPLICATIONS Now in the pool it's taking time.so guys in DE mode guys expect IMMI AT UR SITE AND DELAYS in processing. Transition guys all roles RSMS FIRST THEN ENS.Called Immi they straight away said it's 1 year process for both nominations and Visa. So they are Taking their own sweet time with this point. Good luck for everyone.

But how can I book a health check without referral letter? I use the immi account, but it says my wife's health check is in process, so I can only find my referral letter. How could this happen, she is not doing any health check.
That sounds totally weird as it is, u may wanna call immi on that. I did mine with a code with which i registered at medicheck center. The code came with a letter afterward app lodged, u could chech it with your ma if u have one.
