  1. Is there a 6 month wait time after rabies vaccination before you can take your dog? We moved from Australia 18 months ago with 2 cats and 6 weeks before we left was the minimum. Really hope you find a carer of that is the case. Best wishes.
  2. Hello When we sent pets from Australia to England they arrived at ARC Heathrow, not sure where your pup is arriving. The ARC wanted local contact name & number, which could be you in this case, what day, approx time they were being picked up and by whom. As this was all our arranged before if you're named as picking pet up it may not be an issue. If you're using pet transport company they can sort all this. We used Dogtainers for our cats; ARC still contacted my mother in law in England to check the number. We got them few hours after their arrival. Hope all goes well Sue
  3. I only posted one list and can't recall being asked for two. Play it safe as all goods you want to import. Good luck
  4. We had so much stuff. Full container they are squeezing shut the doors. We used Chess they were good. But if you can save money then great. I think that address should be ok. They'll let you know either way. Good luck with it all. I found rent very expensive in England. But I'm sure you've been looking. Good reminder about the scan of your list, use low resolution. Or the Elson submission gets bounced. Best wishes xx
  5. Hope all goes well. Shipping company kept container for first few weeks as part of our overall fee we paid. They would unload into storage area I would imagine? You pay for unload?
  6. Hi There The shipping manifest was generalised. Bedroom furniture, clothing, stereo, 2 x flat screen tv, gardening tools, exercise bike, and stated how many boxes of clothes, how many beds. Not extremely detailed but as we had boxes it was noted how many and from what room they were taken. Assume you're packing yourself? We used mother in laws address as point of contact. Do you have family / friend with residential address? Can't see why your wife's address albiet temporary couldn't be used but we did have a long term address. We didn't actually stay there either.
  7. I didn't provide any evidence and all was ok. I did provide summary that due to my length of time in Australia it would be impractical to keep warranties post expiry (generally only 2yrs old). As we didn't know at time of purchase or expiry of warranty they would ever be needed there is no need to keep. The shipping manifest was provided as support what was being imported to England. Good luck Sue
  8. We did not provide any details on our application and only our passports. So I don't foresee they're being an issue, just an administrative glitch. I'm sure this will get sorted. Just keep on them and follow up your email. Good luck xx
  9. I'm sure there will be lots of response from others on the forum very soon. If you have British passport don't you have right of entry regardless. I would be inclined to call them today to get talking. Perhaps it was an oversight on their end. Also if you're living with family - are they renting or perhaps get copy of council rates and use this as support of where you're going to be living. Living with family is strong case as family will be supporting you. Can you get that asap? And if they're renting get copy of rental slip. But council tax receipt is evidence of family residence - be it rental or owned. But I would place emphasis on your British passport status. This means you have full rights (I don't know why you wouldn't). Good luck. Sue Xxx
  10. So glad you got it resolved - I think it's the same man sorting things out. Whoever he is he needs a pay rise. Think he's a softy for fur babies and doesn't want anything to go wrong.
  11. Agree, what a picture - love it ?
  12. Good luck for the travel - will be interesting to hear how this goes as no pets have gone through the direct flight. I'm saw they will be all good. If Pets go through Dubai there is requirement for a minimum 6hr stop over in Dubai (local requirement). I'm told by Dogtainers the bus arrives immediately at Dubai and transfers pets to air conditioned holding facility as priority. I guess you have to accept and believe they do perform this consistently. My 2 cats went ex Perth to Dubai to Heathrow - both were well upon arrival at Heathrow. One cat has hyperthyroidism - which needs medication morning and evening. We had to forego some medication at stopover - upon discussion we decided the less complications at Dubai the better. It wasn't life threatening or going to create manor issue for such a small gap in medication. Happy and safe travels pawsies
  13. You're right about not knowing the area and trying to find things, I guess it was one way of me finding my way around but I did end up buying things I don't particularly like as 'keep' items and probably will replace so it's an expensive way of setting up again. I read posts back in Australia about this very topic and when we got our quote it was more economical to get the full container, so we weighed up the costs of the full container v the costs of the items. I regret some of items we didn't bring and the sentimental value or talking point some items could have brought us. e.g. we just realized we didn't bring our esky. Would have been perfect for the bbq and another talking point - the esky has been on many a trip and bbq. Small things but that's what I guess building memories is about. I would definitely recommend bringing what is valuable, irreplaceable or sentimental value if you can afford it. When my purpose build marri dining table was unpacked I felt I had some connection. Many lovely dinners have taken place at this table and it looks good. Our Jason leather recliners were big but they've become the perfect chairs in our new house, fortunately, and the cats love dossing on them. Of cause with throw rugs on them.
  14. I lived in Rockingham 48 years and Cooloongup is ok with both new / nice houses and some not as good. Most houses in Cooloongup will still be bigger than your every day UK home. There definitely nicer suburbs within the area of Rockingham. Try Safety Bay, Warnbro, Port Kennedy, or more near the old beach front part of Rockingham. Of cause the closer to the ocean the higher the rent. However houses in general in Rockingham are way lower than suburbs of Perth due to their distance from Perth central. I commuted daily to Perth via train and it's not a bad run. Clean train, but it does get busy at peak times. You will find a high English population in Rockingham. In the 60's most of the English that moved across came over and worked in the Kwinana Industrial strip. Rockingham is right on the beach and what a beach it is, so you will like the area as a whole. Very big shopping centre and infrastructure is good (medical centre, hospitals, commercial / business centre etc, vets). Good luck.
