  1. Check out my new thread for my detailed timeline with Subclass 189 visa granted. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/252894-registered-nurses-subclass-189-visa-start-finish.html
  2. not sure yet, probably Sydney area even though it seems to be the most expensive. Tom
  3. Hi all, after 6 months of a combination of research, reading and hard work, I've achieved a grant for my Subclass 189 visa this week (26th October 2016).:wink: I wanted to share with you all my journey, which may help you in your quest for a better life down under. After attending an exhibition about Australia in March 2016 and doing some pre-attendance research I decided I could meet the criteria for a subclass 189 visa which I believe is one of the most versatile visas. After getting quotes of £3000 from migration agents I felt I could follow the process myself step by step. Here's what I did. 21/04/16 IELTS TEST - 9 overall R-9 W-8.5 L-9 S-9 26/04/16 NMC overseas certificate requested ( this takes about 6 weeks so do this early) 06/05/16 ANMAC application posted & NMC application posted out 18/05/16 ANMAC application received 23/05/16 ANMAC application (email to confirm process started) 30/05/16 International Criminal History Check (ICHC) completed for AHPRA application 08/06/16 ICHC Recieved back positive - sent to AHPRA 09/06/16 documents posted to AHPRA 16/06/16 NMC Documents sent to AHPRA (after 6 weeks of waiting for NMC) 23/06/16 My application documents received at AHPRA 27/06/16 Money taken for AHPRA 30/06/16 NMC Documents received at AHPRA 30/06/16 ANMAC final stages of assessment (notified by email) 06/07/16 ANMAC determination confirmed 07/07/16 expression of interest lodged with skill select 12/07/16 AHPRA contacted me to resend documents with notary public (solicitor previously certified documents) 12/07/16 application for ACRO Police check (UK) 12/07/16 application for AFP Police check (OZ) 19/07/16 notary public certified documents to AHPRA 19/07/16 invitation from skill select to apply for visa 26/07/16 ACRO police certificate in post 28/07/16 AHPRA documents received & change of officer 18/08/16 AHPRA Registration approved in principal 19/08/16 emailed AHPRA to confirm 12 month extension for overseas nurse registration 22/08/16 case officer assigned , more documents required 22/08/16 additional documents uploaded 25/08/16 AHPRA extension accepted 30/08/16 medicals completed for visa 01/09/16 medicals confirmed and finalised, waiting begins 27/09/16 button appeared on immiaccount page to confirm documents uploaded (?3 weeks waiting wasted?) 26/10/16 visa granted (10 months to first enter OZ) Hope this helps someone. Cheers, Tom:wink:
  4. Congratulations Marley24 gives us a boost to wait that little bit longer!
  5. I too am applying for the subclass 189 visa, having submitted everything including medicals by 1st September. I emailed the DIBP to let them know I'd uploaded all additional info required. I then by chance looked at my ImmiAccount and realised there was a button that you need to click to confirm that you have uploaded all additional info required. so now my ImmiAccount officially said its being processed since 27th September, which makes me feel I've wasted 3 weeks not having noticed the button sooner once I'd uploaded all the docs. Here's to waiting now
  6. thanks for the reply mgreaves, i was thinking that was what I might have to do.
  7. Hi everyone, I recently received my AHPRA registration approval "in principle" on an email where I have to reply via email to extend for 12 months which takes me to August 2017, in order to show my face, passport with ozzy visa and australian residential adress etc.. but I haven't had my visa approved yet and I'm not sure I'll be ready to emigrate next year, as I'm planning to do other things before hand. Is there a possibility to extend it further, as I thought I could go over on holiday to finalize the registration but I need an ozzy residential address according to the paperwork sent?
  8. Hi all, I've recently started my registration and visa journey. My ANMAC docs have been received but the NMC overseas certificate is taking ages to be processed and sent on to ANMAC & AHPRA. Does anyone have a timeline of how long NMC usually take? many thanks, Tom
  9. How have people applied for AHPRA without having a definite answer from ANMAC?
