    Fibre Optic Specialists

Hi. I have not used Pommes in Oz much, but I thought I would reach out to the Pommes in Oz Community. I am a recruiter (originally from the UK - so I know what it is like to move to the other side of the world), and thought that I would reach out, as I have a couple of roles for Fibre Optic Senior Splice and Test Technicians - to be based in Melbourne. A New Year start. If you, or you know of anyone emigrating to Australia in the near future, looking for work in this field, then please give them my details. I also have 2 opportunities for trainees in this field, so if you know someone that is looking for a career change or with 2/3 years of electrical apprenticeship experience, again - please give them my details. Unfortunately sponsorship is NOT being offered. jo.buckler@rightreferences.com. Thanks. Jo
  5. Hi Paul. I have just put a thread up - I am looking for Master techs (automotive) mechanics with BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Renault, Nissan or VW experience - I work for a large dealership company in Melbourne and we offer sponsorship. Lt me know your skills and if you are still interested.
  6. Hi. I emigrated 10 years ago to Oz - and absolutely love it...... never going back!!!!! I am a recruitment adviser and work for Stillwell Motor Group, and we are looking for various skills within the industry. We have with immediate effect a number of master technician roles available in Melbourne. Fully qualified mechanics/technicians are also required. BMW, Land Rover or Jaguar experience is highly regarded - although VW, Renault and Nissan are also highly regarded. We can assist with a 457 Visa if you don't have one already - obviously criteria applies. If you are looking to move to the 'lucky' country, and you have the skills we are looking for and need work, then please don't hesitate to send me your resume/cv with a short paragraph on your circumstances. You can send your resume to jo.buckler@stillwellgroup.com.au - or drop me an email if you need any further info.
  7. Hi. You may want to look on http://www.payscale.com/. Keep an eye on SEEK and INDEED for new jobs being posted - although probably not working applying until you are almost here. You may also want to consider making sure that your resume (better known as a CV to us poms) is up to date and suitable for the Australian Job market. Australian and UK resumes can be very different, with the Australian Job market and Hiring Managers looking for good resumes with concise and relevant information. UK resumes can be long winded (when I emigrated, my original CV was 13 pages long!!!) with lots of irrelevant information. You may want to have a quick look at http://www.rightresume.com.au which is my new business. I am helping new immigrants coming to OZ to help with their job applications etc by tailoring resumes (CV's) for the Australian Job market. Good Luck with the move. I love Australia and wish I had done it years ago!!!

    Child Protection Social Workers Victoria

Hi. I have been in Oz for 10 years and the last 5 years I have spent in Recruitment and Human Resources. In my experience you will probably have little or no feedback from any job applications that you make now for 2017. I have experience in the job application process, especially for larger recruitment campaigns. Your best bet is to apply for jobs a couple of months before you leave the UK, when you have obtained your VISA. I think that you will get a better response. I live in VIC myself, on the Mornington Peninsula and there are jobs in your field regularly advertised - especially in the Dandenong area. Keep an eye on SEEK for new jobs being posted. looking for advice

Hi Wes. I am new to this forum but would like to help. You may want to look at this website http://www.tafecourses.com.au/ - it should be helpful and give you some indication on pricing etc. Google 'plumbing courses' and include the areas you will be living and you should get something back. There are lots of colleges and courses available over here. Good Luck!
