  1. Thankyou. I was under the impression my employer had to sign some sort of release thing to transfer the sponsorship over ?
  2. Hi just after a little advice... I am currently a year and a half into my 457, but I am really not getting on with my employer. I have found a potential new job, and will most likely be looking to transfer my sponsorship over pretty soon. I would like to know, does my current employer find out what company I have moved to or once I hand my notice in and leave, is that it all finished with? I heard off someone my current employer has to sign my sponsorship over...not sure if that is true or not? Any help would be great, thanks

  7. Hi just a quick one Can anyone in Sydney or in particular the Sutherland shire area recommend a broadband provider? There's so many to choose from, I don't know who to go with! I know the internet isn't the best in Sydney, feeling we were a bit spoilt in the UK, but I don't want to sign up to a contract if they are really bad Any help would be greatly appreciated! If it helps, it's just me and the mrs, and it would mostly be used for streaming movies and music...thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Thanks for the advice. I think I will definitely be basing my search in the Sutherland shire area! Seems to have just what we need without being too far away from the city. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'll have a transporter van for work so parking is very important! Thanks for the advice I'm on those webpages quite a lot recently! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hiya mate We are in our early 30s, I'm getting back into mountain biking, not fussed about being near trails as I'll just drive out for that. Getting into surfing aswell so a beach not too far away would be ideal. My Mrs is yoga mad, so hopefully will be able to find her some yoga clubs. Eastern suburbs as you say, is pretty pricey and haven't seen a great deal of rentals in that area in our current price range. A train station close by would be pretty ideal but not essential as long as bus routes are close. My boss lives in Stanmore and I have worked on a few places in the inner west. It seems nice and there are some cool little places around there, decent coffee shops. I just worry about parking around there as I get worked up into a right state trying to find a parking space! Good luck with the move and yes we maybe interested thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I love Cronulla but I remember it being really busy with a lot of traffic. What's caringbah like? Seen a few properties there, reasonably priced aswell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. As it's just the two of us, we were thinking to get an apartment around the 500/600 mark until the mrs finds a job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hi! I'm looking for a nice area in Sydney to base ourselves when me and my fiancé arrive in the next month or so. When I was over earlier this year, I moved around a bit to try get a feel for different areas. I stayed in Coogee, Randwick, Rockdale and Turramurra. Coogee was really nice but thought I couldn't live there as I'd probably be on the piss all the time. Randwick was also nice but could never park the bloody van close to wear I was staying. Rockdale, not the best, got most things on your doorstep but couldn't live there. And Turramurra was lovely, just a bit quiet. So I guess we are looking for somewhere not a million miles away from the beach, a few bars within a 10-20min walk, parking, and close to a train station for the mrs. When I had some spare time I took a drive out to different places and liked the look of Miranda. Being close to Cronulla was a bonus and they have a decent shopping centre. Just not sure what it's like to live there. Anyone got any other recommendations? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. Our friend has offered to adopt our dog, they have a load of land and we know she would love it there, so have decided to leave her in the uk. It will kill me to leave her but personally I wouldn't of agreed if it wasn't good for her, but it also make our lives easier trying to find somewhere to live. Thanks again for all the feedback! 21. Thanks will take that into account Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yes I see what your saying, I suppose we are trying to be as prepared as possible. I don't think she would have a problem being suitable (experience and qualification wise), it's just what I've read up on being on a temporary visa. But thanks for the feedback [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hi everyone, Me and my partner will hopefully be moving to Sydney from the UK in the next few months. I am being sponsored and we will be on a 457 visa. And yes I understand it's only temporary. I will be able to support the both of us, but eventually she will be looking for a veterinary nurse position. I am sure you have been asked the same question a hundred times, but what are the chances of her finding work in Sydney? I've read that employers are unwilling to employ partners of 457 visa holders, is this a major problem? We have seen a few jobs online, but not sure what's the best route to take. Does she contact them now, or wait until we are in the country? Any advice would be appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I've started the process, rabies vaccination etc and we will hopefully be over end of January so yes will we have a good few months to look for a suitable place before she can fly over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think they would want a bit more than $15 for our dog! I've been quite lucky with landlords in the past, fingers crossed we find a decent one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
