Thank you for these. We just got granted our visa last week so busy looking at temporary places to stay in July while we get to know areas so this helps heaps. Over the last 3 years of being on this site we have had so information, help & support. I am working near the airport and with 2 young adults coming who don’t drive, easy link to colleges and the city / shopping malls for possible work are our main priorities for living. Very kind of you to post these!

    187 Visa Processing Time

Hi I wonder this too. we had our nomination approved 2 weeks ago and medicals and police checks requested. We went for our medicals on Monday just gone, and the staff there said that immigration do not request medicals or police checks to be done if the application is likely to be rejected for something else. We had a couple of other things requested after nomination was approved such as dependency proof for child over 18, form 47a and form 80s for all those over 16.. nothing else so I’m assuming all the other information is okay. Keeping my fingers crossed but I’d be interested to know if anyone has had their visa refused once nomination is approved for anything other then medical and police.

Relocating with 16 year old daughter

I have a 16 year old just about to take her GCSEs in May/June. Our nomination was approved today so we’re hoping the visa will be shortly after. She isn’t particularly academic, and will just scrape by in her GCSEs. She has applied here to college to do travel and tourism. Has no plans to go on to uni. It will be a PR visa. We were planning to let her finish her GCSE here and then come. We knew the school system was different and her age group wouldn’t finish until Dec. But I didn’t know if we went earlier if they would put her back a year so that she could do her Australian qualification and make friends..... now not sure what to do for the best for her. We did apply way back in 2016, but it took 17 months to be opened and refused immediately by immigration in Feb 2018.

    187 Visa Processing Time

Just over a year to the day after my first nomination was refused we have received good news that the nomination for my second application has been granted. Second visa application 187 De offshore uk June 2018 RCB approved October 2018 Nomination approval March 2018. Documents requested police checks, medicals and proof of dependency for child 18+ First visa November 2016 had nomination refusal End Feb 2018. Reason for refusal not a genuine position, as they had managed for 17m without us. Immigration gave instant refusal. Company one of the 2 biggest childcare operators in Australia and Tas. There are 6 people on the application senior educator SA. They do seem to be working quicker this time around fingers crossed

I have posted this question today. An agent has replied saying you can but he doesn’t fancy the prospect

While appealing to the AAT can I apply for a student visa?

Thank you for your reply! Does that mean if i do it could affect my current 187 application going to the AAT or you don’t think I’d get the student visa? ?
  13. Hi, My visa nomination is being refused and subsequently my visa will be also. It’s a 187 and my employer has submitted an appeal. It’s a nationwide organisation , and this being the first nomination they have ever had refused. The refusal is because I’m offshore and not already working in the position I have been sponsored for in Australia. My question is, am I allowed to have a student visa and go study a short course in Australia while waiting for the AAT? Will I then be able to work for my sponsor for the 20hrs a week? I have put this question to my agent but they are prioritising work for those who have been affected by the new changes introduced 18th. thank you.
  14. Hi everyone. I have applied 187 visa on 4/april/2017. Before my boss has sponsor for 457 visa in 2016 but she is not continuing now. Do I need to pay for training bench mark. According to new rules shall we need to continue or not please give me your valuable advice.

    Thank you.

      Hi Mohammed

unfortunately I have no idea. I hope someone comes along with the solution for you. This immigration process is confusing and tiring.

      Kind regards
