  1. Thank you @rammygirl @Tulip1 I can apply for Police clearance when they arrive here on 20th Dec but concern is that I have to submit my passport to Indian consulate and they are not able to give me timeframe on when will the application be processed. As parents are coming for 2 months, don't want to take risk that its about time for them to leave and they don't have their passport. I have emailed case officer today requesting if we can do Medical examination here first and then police clearance can be done by them later when reach back in India Feb end. Lets see what he says. Would that be ok? I know you would say why i want to delay application but to be honest I don't mind couple of months of delay as parents are sorting out few things in India and are not in that hurry to start --living here. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Response from Immi to the email I sent to parents@homeaffairs.gov.au. Last line indicates I dont need to resend email through Parent Visa Online form. We are unable to respond to your email. If you need to contact us or provide documents or information, please do not use this email. Use our web-form at: Parent Visa Online Form Information on Parent visas, including current processing dates, is available on the Department’s website at www.homeaffairs.gov.au or via the Parent Visa Online Form link above. Your email does not need to be re-sent via the webform. Please use it next time.
  2. Hi Team I have received request for police clearance and medical for my parents yesterday (12/12/23) after 6 years of application submission date (30/05/07). I feel the department has sent us request and given us 28 days only to attend to it at a very wrong time (in the middle of christmas holidays). To add to it, parents are coming here on 20th Dec and they would have to get PCC done through consulate in Australia which may take anything from 3 weeks to 4 weeks. Has anyone been in this probilem before. Should they have given more more considering its in the middle of holidays? Can I respond to case officer to request more time? Thanks
  3. Congratulations @Trang Enjoy the company of your parents. Hope you can occasionally visit the forum and answer questions
  4. @thinh7tn But form 929 is all about updating the applicant's details? Have you submitted yours to update the sponsor's details and has immi accepted it? Thanks
  5. Hi Which form should I use to update my address (sponsor and the exempt person) as I will be moving soon? Thanks I filled 956 at the time of application to nominate myself as an exempt person. Will it be the same form to change the address as well? Do I need to fill separate form to change the same as a sponsor?
  6. Hello everyone.. I have recently received email from Immi asking for confirmation if details on my parents 143 application is still current. I think this is just before they will send request next request. Can anyone advise how much time does Immi give in their request for AoS, medical and police clearance request? Does the letter has any deadline to submit all?
  7. Always great advise from @LindaH27 @youngfreewild You are so close and have waiting 6 years for it. Visa fees for 143 is giving you Medicare along with other benefits.
  8. Hey Gadgetfreak28 Interesting to read your journey. So you did not get asked for Form 80? Only AOS, Police check and medical?
  9. Can someone provide detailed information on what additional information Immi request when they pickup your file first time after several years? As I understand they request Police check, Health check, AOS. Is there anything else we need to complete and send back. Thanks
  10. Thats great news mate. Congratulations!! Hope you can still stay around in the group for some time to help others with their enquiries.
  11. If they introduce higher fees for existing applicants, there will lot of backlash from 60K applicants. I doubt they will do that but who knows.. Also I am not sure why applicant on non-contributory visa are placed on the top of the list when they change to contributory visa? That's an insult to people who chose to pay extra only to be told an applicant from 10 years ago will be ahead of you in the Queue because he has now decided to pay extra. If I knew this earlier, I would certainly filed my parents application for non contributory visa long time ago.
  12. Has someone written to their local MP about the delays and reduction of number of visas available for parents? Rather than everyone writing their own letter, wouldn't it benefit if we share the letter with facts and information on forum for each one of us to raise with local MPs? This way there is consistency in putting our case forward. What do you think. Thanks
  13. Approx 2 years time frame at the time of applying has become 8 years now and Govt. doesn't feel they are answerable??
  14. Hi Linda Would you know which private health insurance will be best for people on 870 visa once it is available? I know it depends upon your personal health condition and your requirements for cover but just wondering if anyone has explored all options and narrow it down to few companies who provide best cover? Thanks I might think of 870 visa if it is going to take 4 more yrs (applied 30 may 2017) which seems to be the case.
  15. Very true Linda. I always read your posts actively. Thanks for sharing your insight and keeping everyone updated. I have applied for my parents on 30 May 2017 so we should hear next about the same time it seems.
  16. Thanks hawkeye10. I would imagine the same unless govt. comes up with some excuse to apply increased charges to existing applicants.
  17. Hi @LindaH27 or anyone who can assist - If they do increase 2nd VAC charges, will the increase only apply to new applications or they can still charge exponential increased fees for existing application in progress? I applied for my parents in May 2017.
  18. Congrats. How did you make payment same day? Online bank transfer?
  19. Is there a rule about number of years you have to live in Australia within first 5 years to be able to maintain your residency status? My parents enjoy living overseas and would come and live here only if their health deteriorates. Thanks
  20. Hi Linda

Just saying your application (June 17) and my parent's application (30 May 17) has been lodged pretty close to each other.  Hopefully, it goes smooth for both of us. Please note my email id - amsaini15@gmail.com in case you need to discuss anything as I don't check forum very often.

    Thanks

  21. Thank you very much @David Leask . I think Form 80 is for each person included in the application? With the police clearance, do we need one for each country you visited? My parents reside in India but have been to USA (more than 10 years ago), UAE (recent 1 week trip) and Australia.
  22. Hi Greece I think David Leask and LindaH27 have already answered your question before. 1. "It will be at least 3.5 years from your lodgement date, if not longer, before you hear anything." 2. "As far as PCC is concerned again I suspect immi will want something for the 12 months prior to actual processing. "
  23. Hi @Ray and Geri As per your signature, alot happened just in span of few days (Between 24th Apr 18 and 2nd May 18). Can you please shed some light how it was possible. Did you had your Form 80 ready already? Did you send completed From 80 by email? Again how was medical already booked for 25th Apr? How long Police certificate take? Was it sent to you to be emailed/posted to Immigration dept or sent directly to immigration? Was AoS submitted online?
  24. @Anks My parents are on 'Top Visitor Cover with Excess' plan since 2012. They have increased premium drastically every year to come to $2K each month from April. The only benefit is that I am able to suspend policy for 9 months when parents are not here. 'Standard Plus Visitor' cover has Restricted cardiac related services which is not suitable for my father as he has got stents. Apart from missing this, I still think this cover will involve significant out of pocket expenses if used for other services. Hence I am interested in knowing what policy are others choosing which cover all major issues like cardiac. I have just applied for CPV 143 little over a month before you. Let's keep checking with each other on progress.
