    Seems to be a lot of ceremonies really close to overseas trips, I have had the same issue. Got the same thing, invite yesterday for Sydney, a day before an overseas trip which i informed my case office of at the time of my interview... ever get the idea they trying to raise some extra revenue with the addition $185 for the faster passport processing times

    I think in that case you will be OK but im not 100% sure, the case officers know which countries provide what and how hard it can be to get further documentation like you have mentioned so you may have no issue at all, its strange because its not required to have an original for PR application but then they ask for citizenship.

    @imthedave i think it might be luck of the draw on your case officer, i had a similar issue in that i did not have an original copy of my birth certificate as my parents missed placed it, i used my copy(which was certified) i had for PR and for online citizenship application and when i went for my interview and test i was asked where my original was and i said this is all i have and have used to submit for visa and passports in Australia and the UK and my case officer was fine. However I have heard of some not been as nice and accepting and in that case i would have had to apply for an original through the South African home affairs department which can take as long as 12 months before you get the original.

    Quick Timeline: Applied on 7/11/17 Test Invite 6/7/18 Interview and Test for my wife 25/7/18 application approved Interview and Test for me 26/7/18 application only received still Case officer menitoned and documentation post test states: 3-6 weeks for approval letter up to 6 months wait for ceremony dependent on council Sydney CBD P.S. I have a friend who had her test and interview Sydney CBD last month and had her ceremony in Mosman last week...

    @rammygirl in a similar boat, have birth certificates but they not original which is what they request, however what did you use for PR? I have used the same birth certificates for PR so its a hard one

    same, applied on the 7th of November 2017 and nothing yet, that's for Sydney

    @Rikkeskill if you follow the link that @AnneOz has supplied it will give you everything, if you have not been in Australia as a resident for 4 years then you would not be able to apply for citizenship, probably May next year mate.

    Hi Guys, My Nomination and PR has been granted, only got the news from my MA today but it was approved on the 2nd of June Applied for Nomination and Visa on the 9/12/15 Approval of Nomination and Visa on the 2/6/16 NSW PESE HR Country 2 people Occupation: Medical Product Manager and Clinical Governance

    Hi GeeVee, i believe they give you 28 days to submit the extra paperwork, the CO can then take a further 28 days before they even open your file again... there is no sense of urgency.

    Hi Hu, well its still the same employer although we have been bought out, its the same employer from a ABN number(the ABN number will only change in 2 years, big multinationals) but my old company has changed names to the new company, this all happened before i had even looked at applying for 186. I spoke to my MA at the time as he is contracted to our company and i consulted him to find out what would happen to my 457, he said if the ABN number changed i would have to apply for a 457 and would start the 2 year wait again or apply for skilled migration. This MA is quite sought after so i would assume he knows what he is talking about.

    hi Hu, i went through a very similar experience my company was bought out by another company, my MA said that if the ABN number changes (which for me it didn't) i would have to start all over again with a new 457 and then do 2 years before applying for 186. Its worth finding out if the old ABN number will still be used and if your visa will still be linked to that ABN number. I am no MA but i would assume that the company would have to re-apply for your 457... i think its worth chatting to a MA and your company about it all.

    Hi Hu, in what way is the structure changing? If the company still has the same ABN number then you will be fine. If there is an internal change of some type your role title needs to stay the same or you have to prove with documentation that the role from your 457 - 186 is the same with some slight improvements and changes but its still the same core job description
