  1. Why can't he do an RPL? My husband is doing NVQ Level 3 in Glazing to get over the fact he hasnt got formal qualifications but 12 years in the trade.
  2. I got a quote for 800aus$ from an Australian MARA Agent. It costs 1000aus$ to do it yourself and another 900aus$ if it fails (to get a review).
  3. Would you be willing to consider sponsored visa's (457)? My husband is excellent (12 years experience, 6 of which at Director level - just completing NVQ Level 3 in Glazing - which is to allocate paperwork to his level of skillset) although we are looking at a 189 - we have not applied yet. If he were to be offered a job that would make it all so much easier. I clicked on that link above but I see this is a very old post. I just wonder if theres still opportunities?
  4. Could I ask how you go about doing the Police Checks and what Medicals do you have to do? Are there guidelines or preferences. What are the costs involved? (we are based in the UK and are looking to emigrate on a 189 through my husbands Glazier 333111 (we still have to get it assessed by the TRA).
  5. Sorry, just to say we are from the UK. We are applying for the Skilled 189 Independent visa for our whole family (husband, wife, two kids)
  6. This is JUST what I was looking for! Thank you! A few questions I hope you can answer:- My husband is 31, has been in the Glazing industry for almost 12 years - has various certifications, but no formal qualification - however he has been a partner in his own business for 6 years as a Director. He is now doing an NVQ Level 3 in Glazing (which is being assessed at the moment - so he will get his paperwork soon). Once he gets this we are eager to apply to the TRA. Would you be able to advise by any chance what the TRA may assess as in - say he has been a Director (so NVQ Level 3 practically for 6 years) and then a normal working glazier for another 6 years previous to that - do they take it as 6 years at the right level, or someone said they take 3 years off for having done the NVQ and no work after it? Although its RPL (as in literally just getting the paper to support his level of work over the last few years). We dont want to waste money on this - so we are just looking for people who may KNOW so that we can get ideas and advice. He needs 60 points - so the TRA's assessment HAS to come back as good as possible to get maximum points. Any advice will be helpful.
