  1. Thank u Maxil, I am a Chinese. I am applying the 489 Visa and have paid the VAC, that is the English training fee for my wife. Now it is on the process of last assessment. If succeed, we will move to Darwin. I like quiet city, but I don't know whether we can bear the climate. I had been in Philippines for a month in dry season, but had no idea about the wet. Hope we will like it. For me, the rent is not cheap in Darwin. I have to rent a cheap one before I get a job.
  2. Thank you, CaptianC. May God bless you. Happy new year.
  3. Hi guys, I am a mechanical engineer from China. Recently I am working on my Engineer Assessment materials. I met a problem when I wrote my CV. Here is the problem. Both my bachlor's and master's degrees are mechanics. Specfically, Bachelor’s degree:Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Master’s degree:Mechanical Design and Theory. From April 2006 to now, I work in the same department, Equipment Supporting Department, but in two different workshop which we called Hot Mill Equipment Working District and Smelting Equipment Office. The following organizational structure chart shows the two organizations I am working and once worked. I worked in the first district from 2006 to Oct 2009. My position title was Mechanical Engineer and my main responsibilities and duties included: Project management including installation quality inspection, tracking defect treatment, commissioning and acceptance. Standards management including establishment, modification and updating the Rough Mill Mechanical Equipment Running Standards (including equipment inspection standard, maintenance standard and lubrication standard) according to relevant laws, rules and regulations. Technology management including equipment accuracy control, new technology introduction and making equipment updating strategy. Inspection management including daily equipment inspection, equipment running status recording and malfunction treatment. Maintenance management including making maintenance plan, organizing the implement of maintenance work and evaluating the maintenance performance. Spare parts management including making spare parts purchasing plan and stock control. Then I got a promotion and began to work as the Mechanical Professional Supervisor in the Smelting Equipment Office. My responsibilities and duties include: Engineering project management including project plan design and drawings review, bidding and tendering, quality control, progress control, cost control, commissioning and acceptance. Technology management including communication, introduction and application of new technology, providing technical supports and going to the site to solve technical questions as need. Standards management including review and modification of the mechanical equipment standards of steel-making district. Equipment malfunction management including analyzing malfunction reasons, reviewing malfunction reports and supervising the implementation of rectification measures. Performance management including evaluating the performance of mechanical inspectors and maintenance workers. My question is do you think the examiner could understand my working experience and pass my assessment? Should I merge these two periods of experience into one, just say I am a mechanical engineer and have been working till now in the same working district? Thank you and Happy New Year.
