  1. Dear Friends, My cousin ,who is an ICT professional is on 457 visa in Australia for the last 6 months now,has got the positive skill assessment from ACS and would like to apply for immigration. Is there any approval /sponsorship is required from the present employer to apply for the PR or can he proceed with the visa application without any objection from the Govt ? I heard that while applying PR Visa ,one has to change to some other visa till the time frame he gets the approval? Please suggest me on this? My next query is regarding the minimum experience required to submit the application.I heard that one must be working at least 12 months out of the last 24 months in the field of occupation he is applying, without break. Please advise me on this. Rajan
  2. Please note the details taken from the Govt. site, regarding the partner skill, nothing is mentioned about SOL or CSOL Partner skills You can receive five points if, when you are invited to apply for this visa, your partner provides evidence that they: were under 50 years of age had at least competent English had nominated an occupation on the same skilled occupation list as your nominated occupation had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation.
  3. The information which is discussed in this forum is not authentic,it is no where mentioned in the Govt.website., that,to get the additional 5 points contribution from the skill assessment, the partner skill also must be from the same occupation list of either SOL or CSOL. Please convince me with proof from the Govt.web site.According to me,any body gets an assessment from any category can claim additional 5 points for their spouse ,irrespective of the fact, whether they are in different ANZSCO code ,SOL or CSOL.If not, please provide me with the proof.
