  1. Thank you, Alaska, rammygirl and The Pom Queen. It's so reassuring to hear from people who have gone through the same. I am sure I would get the same confirmation from the school I've written to. Will post when I get a response. @The Pom Queen, do you know any good private schools in Rockhampton? @rammygirl, I know rules may change but we are hoping to be able to apply for PR in 2-3 years time. Will have to take chance until then.
  2. Thanks, Quoll. I don't know if the catholic school would take my children, we are not christians. At this stage, I'm just doing my budget planner. It's reassuring that you have the same understanding about fees. The international fees are non-affordable for us, so I feel positive now.
  3. Hi I guess this has been discussed in a previous thread but I couldn't find anything specific to my query after searching for over 2 hours, hence start of this new thread. I am looking for private schools in Rockhampton for my 2 secondary school-going daughters. I found the fees are different for the residents and international students (usually internationals more than double compared to locals). My understanding is that 457 visa should entitle you to be considered as resident (temporary) and fees should be same as locals. My query is specific for the private school fees (I understand state schools are free in queensland for 457 visa holders). Could anybody please help with information regarding the 457 visa entitlements with respect to school fees, please. I would be really grateful as the schools are currently closed for the half term and I am not getting any reply. Many thanks in advance.
