  1. Is this a competition? I'm sure after you finish backpacking Asia you'll have same mouth as me when you arrive in Australia;) have you thought about getting a car? I'm taking a large suitcase with me so I'm planning to get a car, I want it to be a relaxed trip as much as possible, & a car kinda adds some freedom
  2. Starting in Melbourne was my plan at first, but I just thought Brisbane would be a nice area to work and there's not too much competitions when it comes to finding farm as compared to the Sydney area. I'm hoping to work and save so that I don't come back poor.. Initially I'm gonna take £4k with me plus a £5K credit card for emergency
  3. Im not planning to sleep in the car at all unless I can't find accommodation... I'm getting a car mainly so that I can find jobs easier and see the real outback :-)
  4. I'm aiming to arrive last week of August, haven't booked flights yet so itenary could change anytime :-) my heart is set to start In Brisbane.
  5. You could just let it expire and re-apply again.
  6. Hi, my application took over a week because I have two passports, I dos get worried as my friends took less than 2 days and some arrived same day. I thought of not mentioning my second passport but I thought if they found out I'll get rejected. Every information matters to them.
  7. I'm mainly doing the regional work to be safe than sorry, I might not feel like staying in the first few months but could easily change my mind in the 10th month whereby it's too late to extend the visa. I'm going to travel to as many cities as possible and I know each city will have a different atmosphere, I might not want to stay long in the city I first visit, but could fall in love with the last city I visit ... I hope that makes sense.
  8. I'm taking a suitcase with me :-) and I'm planning to buy a car when I get to Brisbane

    Funds

I'm taking £4k plus I have a credit card with £5k limit which might be handy for emergencies ;-)
  10. You must submit your application before you turn 31, but if you have a skill e.g engineer, chef, doctor etc you can apply for a skills visa :-)
  11. New legislation is coming into place and woofing will no longer count towards the 2nd year visa. This is to stop employees from exploiting backpackers. I read australia news frequently to know what's going on out there as I'll be arriving in a few months time.
  12. Yes, it's true that the busier the city the harder it is to find work due to too much competition...I have a friend In Australia at the moment and they've given me sound advice, hence why I've decided to start in Brisbane which is close to toowoomba, gatton, Gympie, bundaberg which are full of farm work.
  13. Hey I'm arriving in Brisbane last week of August & I'm thinking of travelling & working anti-clockwise (leaving the best for last Sydney & Gold Coast) this is just a sketch, my plans are likely to change as soon as I land
